Be sure to ask for a room in the back. Any room at the front is very loud because of the main thoroughfare with a lot of noisy traffic just below when the window is open. Parking costs extra either in the hotel garage, or if it is full, in the nearby parking garage. The hotel is right by the beautiful, friendly pedestrian center of Hilden, absolutely worth seeing by all means!! The hotel dining room with free breakfast is memorable and quaint --- do not miss that.

Stayed here for 4 nights whilst on an organised tour of the area. The rooms were very clean and fairly spacious. The breakfasts were very good and included hot dishes if wanted. The staff were attentive and helpful. The lift with a separate entrance and exit caused some funny moments, as people had their backs to the exit and wondered where to exit the lift. The location of the venue is brilliant. Just go up the road to you right on exiting the hotel and within 100 meters you are in the town square, which has lots of shops and eating/ drinking restaurants. Would recommend staying at this hotel.

We were part of a tour group staying here for four nights. As a result of an enforced detour in Cologne en route we arrived late and tired to find the bar closed and key distribution a bit chaotic. This was in the middle of a heatwave and our room was on the very hot third floor with an attic window for light and ventilation - avoid higher floors in hot weather. There was a mini-bar with reasonably priced drinks to make up for the closed bar. The room was basic in design but OK as a base. Breakfasts were good once you found your way around. The hot buffet includes fried or scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. The staff were generally friendly.

Hi Guys Have just come back from four days at this German hotel. Ok but this very much felt like a business hotel, atmosphere ok but not over friendly. Lady at reception very sweet and helpful. Breakfast lovely and plentiful could not fault this at all, rooms clean and comfortable. No tea/ coffee making facilities in the room which was annoying, mini bar as always was expensive. There is a nice expanse of shops and restaurants five minutes away with traditional buildings and great atomsphere. So this hotel ok for short visit.

Convenient for the middle of town, reasonable restaurant and bar, but plenty of other places to eat nearby if you fancy a change. Easy parking. Very good breakfast including cooked eggs, bacon & sausage as well as more 'continental style'

The Amber Hotel is relatively comfortable, with nice big rooms and a proper shower (very important) The food is fine, with the "Amburger" and the breakfast is one of the best I've had in Germany.

Stayed in a second floor room adjacent to the road. A bit noisy. Otherwise no complaints

I received an awesome bargain due to peak-holiday season in that state and thus reduced bus iess activity. Best hotel in town and sourrounds.

The location, staff and room were all good. But I stayed during summer and the room was extremely hot which made relaxing in the room or sleeping very difficult. I would not stay here again in summer, maybe at other times of the year.

Great service as always from the Amber Hotel! Close to the office and very clean and tidy.
