The weather and the location.

Poor service and some staff is rude. No cleanliness. Old squeaky furniture. No ventilation. Dirty stains on chairs and bedsheets. Minimal plug points. The beds are horrible and will give you back-pain. No mirrors. It is like a cheap Dormitory at the price of a 4/5-star hotel. For 230 USD per night, it's a rip-off. I literally did a kind of "Satyagraha" to get a table fan. There no ACs or ventilators.

We have been here for many times but first time I met Alice from restaurant she was full of smiling face and good hospitality and professional service she make our experience better.

Great experience and fantastic ambience, the kitchen staff and the cleaning staff are doing a phenomenal job in addressing all of our concerns timely, would definitely revisit again, thank you team keep up the great work. Everything was perfect, from views to discovery area. The place was very well maintained and clean. The staffs were supportive and responsive.

The pool must be free like carrom and TT. The games room should be accessible till 10 or 11pm. It was closed very early. The dine in options are very pricy, it should be little affordable.

Location is nice.

The rooms and washrooms were smelly so the staff used a strong room freshener which was even worse. The room did not have any source of fresh air it was claustrophobic, not even a fan. The bed was way too small. They could have made the room more usable with better planning as per the size of the room .

Location is great. Breakfast is very highly pricesed.

Their was no hot water to take bath inspite of complaining several times they didn't care to arrange for the hot water..

I booked sterling fern hill ooty from their official call centre number. I booked so called “ premium valley view room with balcony” for which I spend 12K per night. I stayed 2 nights. The room was at ground elevation near entry gate, and people walking on road, so you cannot open curtain even. The room was pathetic, the bathroom door open just opposite main door, so if door is open bathroom is direct visible. The bed room was upstairs due to which family was split into two part. Only one wardrobe on first floor, so entire luggage / clothes all in bottom floor so all messy as no storage space where you keep stuff. I requested for early check- in / room change - not managed by hotel. I know ooty is cold place but no celing fans??? No air circulation/// Balcony means open terrace of the room beneath you, not covered, full dirty - no use. At least they could put some decent lighting / swing or something for customer to enjoy it. Do not ask about valley view it was not there. So basically all time I was in room, it felt like closed packed room with no view. Now comming to cost - room rent are quite high, with no goodies, comedy is I ordered one qty veg manchurian & pepsi can as room service. Pepsi was charged 239/- for one 60/- rs mrp can, plus taxes. And a very small qty manchurian was charged 650/- plus taxes. Pure loot. I request do not book this place for your travel and spend your hard earned money here. PS - my room was 1434.

I had a very good experience with sterling fern hill hotel There rooms, food , ambiance 👌🏻 Services are also very nice Chandra Shekhar belwal gives us amazing service by arranging bday deco and food as per our taste
