Holiday Inn Express & Suites Havelock Northwest New Bern by IHG

They claim this place was renovated, but from the looks of the peeling ceiling in the bathroom, evidence of something running down the walls in the bedroom area, and dirty feeling carpet, I would say otherwise. 1/3 of a roll of toilet paper, pubic hair on the toilet, wadded up used tissues underneath the curtains, someone’s left over food in the mini fridge and pillows that smelled like feces. I had cleaner accommodations in the middle of Saudi Arabia.

We had to refresh our keys at the front desk every night when we got back to the hotel because for some reason, the system was checking us out of the hotel every day.

All in all a great place to stay for a quick trip near Cherry Point. Good location and a great breakfast. We would definitely stay again for our next visit.

Breakfast - great. Has a navel plane museum behind the property. Staff - super nice. Clean room.

Small indoor pool. 30/40 minutes from beaches of Emerald Isle. Though this part is no fault of the hotel, unless you’re into bar hoping, everything everywhere seems to close at 9/10pm.

Two night stay. Room smelled like a $50 motel on the beach. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was nice and the attendant very friendly and always cleaning. Safe location. Grounds and entry need work. Smoking section is just outside front door. Butts everywhere. Staff was very friendly. Pool area was nice.

The location is good and the staff was great!

The mattress for the pull out bed was so uncomfortable and the room it's self was very outdated.

I like the location, it was quiet. It has an indoor pool which was good in case of the rain. The breakfast was nice. The room was big and spacious. The beds were comfortable. The elevator is located in the lobby. There is a business area for printing, laundry room with one washer one dryer and an ice machine. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is a snack bar.

The cable isn't good due to not a lot to watch, the charging stations need updating and the breakfast menu could be more choices.

I reported a slip and fall in the laundry room where the ice machine is. The young white girl at the front desk was training someone and I told her about it and she didn't seem concerned at all. I went back in the laundry room and propped the door open and put up a wet floor sign. I am not sure if she ever cleaned it up after I left but it was still there when I went back in my room. I reported it to the front desk again in the morning and the blond lady was so much more attentive to my needs! I appreciate her.
