Best Western The Dartmouth Hotel Golf & Spa

The location of the hotel is great as a base to visit various locations. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately the lift down to the spa and pool area was not working at the time of our visit. We booked a suite but there was no fridge to keep drinks or fresh milk cold.

Booked an overnight Spa Stay via one of the online offers sites, upgraded to include an evening meal. Arrived midweek, easy to find, easy secure car parking outside the venue. In to reception, and welcomed into the venue, explained we were a little early, but to use spa, restaurant facilities. Great receptionist Bindi? Quick nip down to the Spa, and look around, booked a spa treatment for SWMBO (for ladies of a certain age) for following morning, by an excellent Receptionist, and also booked Rasul Mud treatment for later that afternoon l. We then went to restaurant where we were again greated by a friendly (new member) of staff, booked our table for evening meal, had a drink and started to relax. Booked in, and went to room to settle in... Room (ground floor) more than adequate, although a little tired (TV removed from wall, clearly painted around previously, and bracket still on wall). Shower room clean, tidy, and plenty of towels. Bed large, soft and comfortable, and additional pillows available. Ironing board, iron in room, and hairdryer. Room warm enough, although glazing could do with updating, as those golfers could be clearly heard outside... Not a problem this time of year, but in summer with early or later play, and windows open, may be a annoyance as right on the green bits! Spa facilities, couldn't fault the indoor pool, the jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna, although cpuld imagine when busy, you may struggle to use all the facilities... Nice touch is robes and towels included, and token for locker (if you forgot a pound coin), also cold drinkibg water dispenser. Again area ls were clean, tidy, and in no way concerning, but a little tired, tiles on pool backdrop to jacuzzi area in need for some attention, wall tiles in male changing room a couple cracked, and some grouting missing... And the communal lobby area could do with some attention, ceiling holes where lighting had been replaced... All nothing that couldn't be sorted in a day or two! Rasul Mud treatment... Have to say an absolute highlight, you need to book, as on two people at a time. Give yourself an hour, but it's about 45 minutes. A great experience for partners or close friends, it all secure behind a locked door... Only improvement I could suggest may be addition of some music? Evening meal, again staff couldn't have been more welcoming, informative and friendly, without being obtrusive. Menu had a good selection, thoroughly recommend the Whitebait starter... That would have been a meal in itself for a lighter eater, gammon was superd, portion sizes, quality or ingredients, presentation, value I couldn't fault (I have dabbled as a Chef for over 35 years) Drinks, not overly expensive given a captured market... Comfortable nights sleep, very little noise from other residents. Breakfast, again staff excellent, continental, and then a choice of hot food, I love a good Full English, and with the exception of no Black Pudding, absolutely couldn't fault it... Hot, fresh, quality ingredients and tasty... Sausage and bacon always a giveaway if cheap a plate full of grease, but not a sign of it here... Bravo the chefs and catering staff! Spa experience, the treatment booked was no longer available (website needs updating) and is a real shame as SWMBO was looking forwards to 90 minutes pampering. Reception was apologetic, so booked another full in 60 minutes CBD massage therapy session (20% discounted) and I am reliably informed it was fantastic. I went back to use pool, spa facilities... Check out absolutely painless, no hidden surprises, any additional items paid for at this point. Now we have stayed in a few Spa resorts around the country, some with Michelin star restaurants and the food here was better. 4 and 5 star rated spa facilities, and these were equal to if not better. Would we stay here again, or recommend to anyone else, absolutely YES. With a little love, the decor issues could very easily be resolved in a week, and relatively inexpensively. Staff 10 out of 10 Dining experience/value 10 out of 10 Spa facilities a 9 out of 10, but easily sorted Decor as stated a little tired, but not dirty so an 8 out of 10, and again easily sorted.

I travelled with my elderly mother in law. The staff were extremely helpful with her meal requirements and any help that we required.

Friendly staff, the golf course, golf facilities and pro shop , Breakfast very nice bap and accommodation of being able to take in to go . Spa very relaxing , spacious room .

The only thing , the mattress is found to my tastes , a little to firm. So struggled a bit . I could and should of called reception but didnt , And I am sure they would of sorted something out . They have ensured that I will have a comfortable bed next stay next week . Which I very much look forward to

We spent four nights at this hotel, partly as a Room to Reward break away with extra days added on. The staff were fantastic, room spacious and comfortable with welcoming water and sweet treats. Our room overlooked the golf course with spectacular views to wake up to. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious as was the restaurant meal we had one evening. We also enjoyed the spa area one rainy afternoon. Would we stay here again or recommend to friends and family? Most definitely 👏🏻👏🏻

Location convenient for what we wanted. Good value for money for 3 star. Very dog friendly … great easy walks and areas for ‘business’ and dog allowed in bar and restaurant. Food great. Staff excellent, special mention to reception staff bar and restaurant and Hannah our chambermaid.
