"Great value for money "

10.0

My first impression on the service wasn't too good, as I had emailed the hotel to ask for advice on how to reach them via public transport on a late arrival. The answer was very basic and, I felt, a bit bodged. However when we arrived, the guy at reception was very nice and helpful, and showed us the breakfast room where food and drinks are left available all night, which after a long journey, was much appreciated ! A little thing on the minus side, we realised the next morning that there was only one towel and one piece of soap in the bathroom, but the guy at reception fixed this in a few minutes. Breakfast only starts at 8am which is fairly late if you want to set off early, but if you're OK with crackers and fruits these are available 24/7 in the breakfast room. The room was comfortable and clean, so was the bathroom. The location of the hotel isn't quite near the centre but the area is nice and quiet. There is a metro station only a few minutes on foot. You probably will get confused as you get near it, it is in the middle of a residential area where you wouldn't expect to find a metro station. From there you get to the centre in about 5 min. Oh and also, yes the hotel is associated with the hospital so you've gotta be comfortable with that.

"Good budget hotel but actually a hospital hotel"

6.0

Really great friendly and helpful staff. Clean and basic accommodation with simple cafeteria food. An excellent facility for patients and visitors to the Radium Hospital. This hotel is not centrally situated but U.S. Easily accessible by public transport from the centre.

"Hotel Montebello"

8.0

The hotel is close to the center of Oslo. And the neighborhood is very nice, full of greenery. The level of hotel services is very good. It has good ratio between price and quality. We were satisfied with this accommodation.

"pleasant surprise"

10.0

To be completely honest I had my doubts at first when I was trying to ask how to get there at the airport. The information officer asked me, ''you are not sick are you?'' so I realized this hotel was associated with the hospital nearby. I am glad I went there anyways. It was easily accessible by the express bus and then a connection, which thanks to Norwegian transportation system was not a probloem. The hotel itself was very clean. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was enough and very healthy with Norwegian brown cheese and porridge which is my absolute favorite. The staff were so helpful that upon asking, prepared a club sandwich and some fruits for the day that I had an early flight. All in all, I hope this hotel gets most of its revenue from happy travelers and not any other associations...But it is so nice that someone is thinking about how difficult it might be for some of us to even travel because of the smallest details and is coming up with a solution for that.

"Pros and cons"

8.0

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights in August. The location is a long way out of the city if travelling by taxi but about 10 minutes walk from the nearest train station. They have no on-site parking but you can park for free in the street nearby and we never had a problem finding a space. The room was not very big but there was enough space so it was okay for a budget room. Unfortunately it was not very clean. There was a lot of dust under the bed and despite the room being cleaned during the day, there was still hair in the shower. On the plus side, the bed and pillow were wonderfully comfortable. The place was quiet and we were never disturbed by other guests. Breakfast was surprisingly good, with a good selection of cooked and cold foods, teas, coffees, juices etc. After evening meal, which we personally did not try, a selection of foods are left available for guests to help themselves for free. These include all the drinks, plus breads, crackers, soups and fruits. This was a great touch, especially as we arrived at near midnight on our first day and were able to satisfy our hunger immediately for free. The staff were very friendly and efficient. One important thing to note though, when you leave your room you must put the keycard in the slot to lock the door. We did not know this and assumed the door automatically locked like most hotel doors. It was only by chance on day 3 I tried the handle and the door opened. We had been leaving our room unsecure for 2 days. All in all I found this a good hotel. The breakfast hours could be a little longer and if you arrive later to breakfast many things have often run out. They do not seem to be replaced so first come first served.

"Relevant price to quality"

8.0

Advantages: price to quality ratio, wide selection of food at the breakfast (although on Sunday warm breakfast was stopped to be served 40mins before end time), no problem with parking. Disadvantages: not all staff was competent enough (unable to provide us with parking info or general information about Oslo), no WiFi in room (hotel WiFi available only at the reception which by the way didn't work for 2 days of our stay), no car parking which means you have to use paid hospital parking (220 NOK / day!), significant distance from the city centre as well as from the train (10-15 mins of walking and climbing) and very ascetic decorations (building used to be a part of hospital in the past?). Recommended for those who seek for optimum price vs quality, like to walk (and are not with car because of extra price) and need a place to sleep with good food but are not seeking for extra comfort.

"Nice Facilities and a Comfortable room"

8.0

Comfortable room; Quiet location; about 10 mins walk from the nearest metro. The walk back to the metro from the hotel is a little uphill and could be difficult with heavy luggage. It is connected to a hospital but it did not impact us in anyway. No wifi in the room, only cable internet which we did not use so not sure about the quality. There is a restaurant within the building which is very nice. Also, the breakfast is very good. Coffee and Tea are available round the clock. Also, there is a oven in the breakfast area which can be useful if we want to prepare some instant noodles or reheat food at any time of the day. Overall, a good place to stay in Oslo for the reasonable pricing.

"Cheap and convenient.."

8.0

If youre on a budget, this is a very good choice of hotel. It is only a 10-15 min walk from the metro The location is in West Oslo, and it is a relatively safe and good area from what I have heard. It is also very quiet, and yes it is connected to a hospital, which means you will stumble across patients. The room I was in with my friend was very modernistic, and clean. The food facilities were also good, and we had the breakfast buffet included. The only downside is that they did not have wifi. To sum it up, this is definately good for its price considering its location and standards, but you will not have wifi available. I think it will suit all ages, but of course one has to take in account that there are patients living in the same block as you.

"Nice & quiet room but no wifi"

6.0

Room is pretty nice and spacious with large windows. Location is about 10 min walk from the Metro. Now the walk to the hotel is downhill but on the way back to the metro station is pretty quite a hike (if you're bringing large suitcases make sure the wheels are okay). There's no wifi available in the room only cable Internet (with some extra charges, perhaps?). The building is a part of the hospital so you'll get a hospital feel when you stay there (some people might not like it). The rate also includes breakfast which is convenient because there's no grocery store nearby (that we know of).
