Shamrock Arms Guest Lodge

This was our stopover between Graskop and Johannesburg and we did not really explored the area only stayed overnight. The room was a little bit outdated but overall this place has its own charm so it really did not bother us at all. The service provided by Sue and Belinda was really exceptional and the dinner was really wonderful, we felt spoiled!

We felt very welcome. Service and friendliness of staff was exceptional. Dinner and breakfast was prepared especially for us, the kids loved it. A big thank you to Sue and Bellinda!

The "snack-dinner" and breakfast are good.

The owners are very "friendly". We sent them several messages asking about the dinner menu to see if we were interested in dining there or not. Naive, there is nothing else in the village. We never got a reply, when we arrived, we were told that they had already sent us the menu a few days ago. The menu has two options, meat or fish, but it seems it was a lot of work to send it again. Although they say the kitchen is open until 20:00, we arrived at 18:00 and were told we had to have dinner at 18:30. We were the only guests, and they were in a hurry to finish and sit on the terrace for a glass of wine, which is what they did. You finish dinner at 19:00, there is nothing to do in the village and they don't recommend you to leave the hotel because it can be dangerous. The internet connection didn't work the whole time we were there, so no Netflix, no internet, etc. The only option is to sit on the bed, there is no sofa or anything like that in the room and look at the ceiling. I will not comment on the room. I refer to the photos. You can decide if it is worth paying R1800 for this. I don't understand how anyone can rate this accommodation a 9 or 10.

Lovely hosts

Heel apart verblijf in nette niet al te grote maar kamer die groot genoeg is met comfortabel bed. De opvang en begeleiding is fantastisch. Er wordt een geweldig diner verzorgd en lekker ontbijt. Jammer dat af en toe aangekondigd de stroom uitvalt, maar daar kunnen de hoetelhouders ook niets aan doen.

The hospitality from the host was amazing. We felt right at home from the beginning. The rooms were cozy and clean. The homecooked meals (breakfast and dinner) were very nice.

The accomodation itself was perfect. The only thing i could think about that i wouldn’t like is the town in which the accomodation is located. But we used this accomodation as a stopover, so it was not a problem
