Fundy Rocks Motel and Chocolate River Cottages

This place needs a renovation. The cottage was very dated. The cottage was musty. Although this may be hard to avoid next to the bay of Fundy. The towels were brown, this turned us off. The lobster dinner was excellent and the ice cream too

The view was great and the grounds were very well kept. The room was fairly clean but could have stood a bit more. There was no Kleenex in the room and coffee but no tea. I’ve paid $115.00 $25.00 for our dog and there were signs all along the road advertising the motel at $95.00. Disappointing.

All as expected for the cost. Room clean and comfortable

The positive the bed was comfortable; the view was nice. The bad, dated old, the shower would not function, I called to complain the owner was rude and said they had a part on order, so he knew the shower didn't work but still rented it out, would not refund anything:(

Great option near Hopewell rocks

Booked online, opted for pay at property. Someone phoned me from the location to take payment for the booking. Provided the card number no problem. Arrived at the location, office was closed, restaurant was closed, our entire stay. Was advertised as soundproofed cottages, but it’s just a whole cabin turned into a duplex type, normally it wouldn’t be an issue but you can hear EVERYTHING from the neighbour. We went out sightseeing and came back to the towel we used to get out of the shower, folded(still wet) back on the side of the tub and the bed made but no garbage emptied (not a huge issue, we are clean people and will gladly remove our own garbage). The toilet ran constantly, towels around the toilet on the floor. We were sitting on the old worn futon and could hear some sort of rodent type animal chewing inside the wall. We had a cockroach on the ceiling. Since there was no one in the office there was no one to call to advise or request to move cabins. The cabin on the other side had a storm door laying on the porch broken and with the winds, was afraid it would blow into our vehicle. The only positive thing about this place is the view from the cabin porch overlooking the bay and watching the tide come and go.

It's a two star motel and that's what you get. It is priced appropriately but it didn't feel very clean and the rooms are damp. As per the website, there are no refunds for a cancellation. Would not stay here again.

With Expedia.ca, I originally booked 4 consecutive nights at Fundy Rocks Motel, (Check-in Aug. 21, 2023 & Check-out Aug. 25, 2023). Realizing I was getting close to a late check-in, I called the Motel in advance, prior to arriving. The night manager gave me the room number and said the room was left unlocked with the key inside. Upon arrival, my wife went inside our room first. She came out immediately, telling me that I would not appreciate the air quality and overall cleanliness of the room. I entered the room to be aggressed with, very stale, musty and animal urine smells. After quick inspection, the bathroom exhaust fan didn’t work. There were large spider webs and a spider, on the bathroom ceiling. The brown towels were all musty. The carpet was torn in places and had years of dirt and stain with white powder thrown in some corners, either to mask the animal urine smells or to discourage ants. The bed linen was stained yellow. We called the night manager/front desk immediately. He offered us to look at another vacant room, which was left unlocked. The room, a few doors away, smelt much the same. The only plus was that the bathroom exhaust fan worked. We decided to stay with the room we were given because it was getting late to move our belongings. I asked the night manager about cancelling the rest of our stay after the night and he insisted that I wound have to deal with Expedia because the reservation was made through them. I gave up that evening trying to get through
