Central location great food great staff warm welcome

Breakfast was nice with qauilty food, bathroom / room was modern and up to date. The rest of the hotel could do with decolratiung.

The quality of the bed was poor, very noise springs. The mattress was a good quality but let down by poor pillows all resulting in a bad night sleep. The hair dryer could be updated, poor quality. Fresh towels provided in the bathroom found with hair, does not seem washed.

Comfortable room

A lovely building but the communal areas (except for the breakfast area) would benefit from a refurb and the dead flowers in the window boxes don't give a good impression

Very comfortable, traditional family-run hotel in central location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast and evening meal, with wide choice. Close proximilty to coast path and fantastic scenery. Very suitable for solo travellers.

Nothing - it was all great.

We had room 6 and 7. Both had comfortable double beds, one had a big shower and one had a bath. We liked the option to have porridge for breakfast as many of the places we stayed didn’t have that on the menu. Hot chocolate in the room was a bonus too.

Even though I had requested a packed lunch and had been told that was no problem, the staff didn’t know about it and so it wasn’t ready in the morning. They were able to put something together though

Breakfast wasn’t great, just ok

After making the reservation we were contacted by the Commercial to say that they didn't have any rooms available but had forgotten to notify booking.com. They therefore proposed to "upgrade" us to the Cottages which are behind the pub. The cottage was much bigger and it made our stay much more agreeable. I would thourghly recommend, especially for a small family.

I am just over 6 foot and couldn't stand up in the bathroom. I had to permanently remain bent over in order to avoid hitting my head.

The breakfast at The Commercial was great. It was served hot, in good time after ordering, eas very fresh and tasty. The conservatory was very light, airy and clean. The Reception was also bright and inviting with nice decoration. The location is right in the centre of St.Just which was great for the local shops etc. There was a free car park about a 2 minute walk from the hotel which is quite a rarity in Cornwall, so that was a surprising bonus.

Our room was a family room a little on the small side with the window overlooking the conservatory roof. It was comfortable for our one night stay. There was one of the downlighters on the that was broken and the tap in the en-suite was loose, so moved when it was turned. We did report these 2 things to Reception. Then we overheard the receptionist say 'the tap in room 11 needs tightening again', so it must be a regular report. It just needed to be done so that it wouldn't come loose again.
