Shaftesbury Lodge Guest House

This is A beautiful property, very close to the Perth Road and lots of things to do in Dundee. The room was beautifully appointed, the bed very comfortable, and for me because I had a couple of business meetings, I was delighted that the Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. my only ation about this in is that I never met anyone who worked there. I arrived in the afternoon and stowed my bag Before I checked in (It seemed the end keepers had never been asked to do this before, which was strange to me, but they did accommodate me). I arrived back later in the day to check into my room, which was lovely, but never saw any of the proprietors. Breakfast was delightful, but again never spoke with anyone other than the very kind young woman who filled my coffee. This is a very typical type of stay in the US, but in Scotland and England, I am generally, much more impressed with the kindness and friendliness of the end keepers. If only to check on you and make sure you have what you need. In any case, it does not detract from The loveliness of this inn Or it’s excellent quiet location

Our room (Triple Room Ensuite Bathroom) was spacious, beds were comfortable. Couch, TV and dining table made us feel like we were home. Large windows are absolutely fascinating. Although the bathroom was old, it was clean spotless. Show gel, lotions, shampoo and towels were provided. Our room was equiped with mini fridge, kettle, snacks, bottled water and variety of drinks (tea, coffee and hot chocolate). it’s possible to park right in front of the property on the street free of charge. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, there were lots of choices such as Scottish Breakfast, omelettes, Salmon and poached eggs. In our next visit to Dundee, we will definitely stay again!

Very large room and very nice staff at the breakfast. Thats the good news. Bad: it smells from the kitchen at the entry, little tired, in area with nothing around.

Staff amazing , breakfast really good , beds comfy . Bathroom needs updating but was ok . Loved the Pringles and nice water on room and toiletries.

Really poor reception area. Very basic and decor dated and unprofessionally done. Dining room was terrible with an awful smell, so much I chose not to eat anything from there!

Very easy to get to on the outskirts of the city. The room was a good size with an extremely comfortable bed and lots of little extras - snacks and water - as well as tea and coffee facilities. The breakfast was amazing - all freshly cooked and absoluteky delicious.
