It’s a great resting area, very quiet and peaceful. The only downfall was the price they charge to shuttle you to the airport, too high for such a short distance.

We have explored nearly every part of Mazatlan, but wanted to spend more time on the amazing beach of Stone Island, not just a day trip from Centro. Las Villas was our favourite place on the entire coast from Guaymas to Puerto Vallarta over 3 months of travel. We would stay longer if we could, but it was booked due to Semana Santa. The feel of a small boutique hotel with a nearly deserted sandy beach was amazing. We had a ground floor ocean view room, and loved the sound of the surf all night.

I would not recommend staying at this resort. My husband and I were very disappointed to find that the gym, spa and sauna were all closed during our entire stay of 4 days. There was only one restaurant available and no restaurants close by to walk or drive to. The area is unsafe after dark and very far from all activities and restaurants in mazatlan. Staff were not very friendly and the beds were not comfortable. Our room smelled musty. I would only recommend going if you are going for the golf course.

Our stay at Estrella del Mar was excellent. It's beautiful, clean, and good service. Its proximity to the airport makes it very convenient.
