"Relaxing, quiet, comfortable, friendly staff"

We stayed here for 2 nights to relax into our holiday after a long flight, and we hardly left the hotel. We were virtually the only guests, but I suspect even at full capacity the hotel would remain a quiet place to relax in. Staff were uniformly helpful and friendly, and the free airport transfer went perfectly smoothly. You can hang out by (or in) the very clean swimming pool, eat at the restaurant (the food was plain but reasonably priced), or just enjoy the room and gardens. There isn't much nearby (we walked around the local streets a bit; people were very surprised to see westerners out and about in their neighbourhood) but I understand a taxi ride to Medan would be pretty cheap. Overall, good if you need a place to chill out in comfortable surrounds. Bad if you're planning to indulge in a 24-hour food and shopping extravaganza.
