Room 2 in the Courtyard where we stayed is on the second floor. However, it was impeccable and Exceptional large and well designed. Although It’s two windows are tiny. We wondered about the ground floor rooms which have enormous windows and are allegedly the same size. Apparently these ground floor rooms are also less expensive. You should, and we will, on our next visit request ground floor rooms.

Located on beautiful 36 hole golf course high standard of furnishings in large bedrooms. Staff could not have been more helpful.

Room was beautiful. Experience spoilt by fact that in lengthly queue to check in I found we had paid £100 more than every other couple there and they got prosecco in room too. I was very annoyed to find your site encouraged me to pay £50 for dinner. This only entitled me to £40 of food and I couldn't use any excess towards drink. I complained and manager said your company took the extra £10 so he wouldn't refund. Wife's fifthy birthday spoilt and I came away feeling ripped off. I would never use this site or recommend unless you can do something to recompense me.

It could have been excellent but 1st impressions from the 1st night and 1st breakfast probably influence how we feel about the stay. Heating relies on an "aircon system". It was icy so we needed to keep it on but the fan was very noisy and kept us awake Food in the restaurant wasn't as good as hoped for On the 1st day we were given lukewarm tea at breakfast, the menu wasn't explained and food was pre-prepared and drying. Sorry we didn't complain but my wife did not want to make a fuss. On the 2nd day we discovered we should have been offered juice and could have had porridge / fruit before the main cooked breakfast. On checkout I mentioned that we hadn't been told that the half board option was actually only an allowance towards dinner, but that it wasn't really a problem. I was then told we should have had 3 courses, but then the person backtracked and said maybe it was only an allowance. Made me wonder if I had been charged correctly

The rooms are set in a courtyard, away from the Reception and bar/restaurant, which made it quite a different experience to the usual hotel style and layout. The rooms are really spacious and comfortable, and the décor is really modern. There was also a large corner sofa where you can relax, a huge king size bed, and also a luxurious, large bathroom with underfloor heating. The room and our overall experience was really good and we will definitely plan another stay at Close House without a doubt.
