The staff members are exceptionally friendly and helpful, consistently going the extra mile to ensure our stay is convenient and comfortable. Their hospitality is truly superb.

To be fair, it’s an old house, and keeping it in perfect condition is not easy. The bathroom extraction fan is not working, and there are some mouldy spots on the bathroom ceiling. The downstairs bar area and dining area, however, are in good condition.

I had a great stay at the Dial House Hotel. The staff were welcoming, the room was clean, and everything felt well looked after. The location was quiet and convenient, which made the trip a lot easier. Overall, it was a smooth and comfortable experience. I’d definitely stay again.

Location

The room was dirty, the bedspread was stained, and when we asked, the hotel staff said it was because someone had spilled something greasy on it. Everything was very old, falling apart, and the room needed renovation. This wasn't a three-star hotel; it was much worse.

It was a good room, very comfy bed, good bathroom with lovely hot water. It was quiet even though on a main road. Reception allocated ne a double room although I only booked a single which was rather nice.

I booked this hotel for three nights (£165 total) after filtering specifically for dog-friendly properties. When I arrived, I was immediately told I had to pay an extra £75 “pet fee” (£25 per night) for my small dog — something that was never disclosed during booking. The listing simply said “pets allowed” with no mention of such a high charge. After I said I would rather leave and request a refund, the manager suddenly said I could stay without paying the pet fee. It was obvious opportunism — they clearly just wanted to keep my money. It was dark and raining, so I accepted and moved my belongings into the room. The room was completely uninhabitable — strong foul smell, stained carpets, filthy curtains, sticky surfaces, broken furniture, cracked sockets, a kettle full of debris, and a bathroom that overflowed with every flush, spraying dirty water across the floor. The bathroom door then jammed shut, leaving me with no usable toilet. I immediately reported everything via Booking.com’s messaging system. The hotel manager, Syed Pirzada, confirmed in writing that he would cancel the remaining two nights and ask Booking.com to refund me. However, after I left that same evening (having stayed less than an hour), he refused to honour the refund and stopped responding altogether. To make things worse, when I accidentally took the room key with me, the hotel claimed it would cost £165 to replace — the same amount as my entire three-night stay. It was a standard key, nothing special. I did the honourable thing and personally returned it around 9:00 the next morning, yet they still refused to process any refund. Later that night, I discovered multiple bites in straight lines on my body, clearly from bed bugs. The room was infested. I then had to spend the next two days fumigating my clothes, luggage, and vehicle to stop the infestation spreading. I never even spent a night there. The place was filthy, unhygienic, and infested, and the management behaved dishonestly. Save yourself the misery — do not book this hotel under any circumstances.

Avoid this place at all costs - BED BUGS!!! The hygiene and cleanliness were appalling — the toilet overflowed, the bathroom floor was filthy and smelled terrible, the shower and ceiling were covered in grime, and there was dirt everywhere. The toilet door jammed shut, the sockets, wardrobe, and desk were broken and dilapidated, and even the kettle and curtains were dirty. The carpet was badly stained. It was so disgusting I left after about an hour, despite the pouring rain and darkness outside. Later that evening, while resting in my car, I was bitten by bed bugs that must have hitchhiked onto my luggage and clothing. I was then forced to treat all my clothes, luggage, and vehicle. A horrific experience. Although the owner initially agreed to refund me for the three-night stay I couldn’t use, they later refused to return a single penny.
