Brownsover Hall Hotel

Excellent location, but building is very tired and decor urgently needs updating, holes in carpet, curtain poles hanging off wall, gaps/holes in windows making room cold. Really needs an urgent injection of cash.

Really good value for an interesting character Hotel in wooded private grounds . Staff seemed few and far between but were all polite and willing to help , only down side was whilst a nice twin room the bathroom let it down cramped loo and impossible to have a bath or shower with climbing into the bath due to positioning of shower screen

hotel stay everything is on or slightly below average, nothing to much to say. one thing to note - Tradesmen beware my work van door was cut open for a attempted break in.

Very comfortable bed, good size bath and a great breakfast (full English) which set me up for the day.

Nice building, nice rooms some tired elements but not material. Maybe some softer lighting in the bedrooms lamps.

Stayed for 3 days whilst visiting family. Must say what a lovely character hotel and can say the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Wonderful grounds, clean, comfortable rooms, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast very nice and plenty of variety. Will definitely be staying again.

Everything was ok until 3 in the morning when other guests were running around banging on doors. This went on off & on for over an hour. Got very little sleep after that! To top the stay the hotel tried to charge me for a breakfast which I didn't have so they obviously don't have any systems in place to prevent guests charging food and drink to other guests rooms. Shocking!!!

Superb grounds surrounding a character hotel.

Very nice property. Clean, attractive room with good view. Friendly service. Quality breakfast. Easy parking.

Disappointing stay. Booked a superior room including breakfast. On arrival I had to show my registration numerous times before my room could be found. We were handed a key and told we were in stable block, no instructions on how to get there. No information provided about breakfast until I asked. Member of reception seems very uninterested. The room itself was a good size but it was tired. Lots of the furniture was damaged the windows missing handles. The bathroom was awful and not what you expect when booking a superior room. The bath panel was rotten, paint peeling and all round the shower was very mouldy. The room was advertised as having air condition it did not and was very warm and made it uncomfortable overnight. Not what you expect at all Breakfast was disappointing to. Food was Luke warm and had been sitting under a heat lamp for sometime. Coffee was not drinkable although was pleased to see they had decaf tea (many places don’t) I planned to raise my concerns on leaving but was told to just leave the key. Again reception seemed uninterested. Hotel was advertised as no pets but room next to us had a large dog that barked throughout the night again annoying. Overall what should have been a nice night away was very disappointing. This hotel has potential to be lovely but is need of repair. Will be emailing the company with my concerns.
