Sol De Goa by Sereno

Hotel was very pleasant, rooms were fantastic, service staff were very friendly, however I was very disappointed about the variety, freshness, quality and price of food and drinks, When we ordered food it used to take 45 minutes for it to arrive on the table, this is when there is only 4 guests eating, the menu was full of pasta dishes and hardly any Indian food, the kitchen did not even have a tandoor, it was just too over priced plus there were 4 different taxes we were charged on top of the bill, no wonder the staff did not get tipped! there was work going on while we having our breakfast, saw dust coming down on our heads, the breakfast was advertised as a buffet but was a disappointing continental breakfast, loved to stay there again but please you have to make some major improvements

The hotel is tucked away in a quaint place, yet it is so close to the beaches. It's a very nice and cozy hotel, with extremely friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent and the Thursday night live music and candle light dinner is to die for! All in all, a very good place with great value for money!

Dieses Hotel war das vierte auf meiner Rundreise durch Goa. Die Ausstattung und Sauberkeit sind gut, gibt es aber auch in drei Sterne Hotels. Das Essen ist mehr als überteuert, die Portionen klein und das Essen fad. Zum Vergleich: ich habe hier das dreifache des Geldes für Essen und Getränke ausgegeben als in anderen Hotels. Da ich auch viel Taxi gefahren bin, kann ich nur abraten, diese vom Hotel aus zu buchen. Diese Kosten knapp das doppelte, als wenn man selbst eines ordert. Leider hat dieses Hotel mehr schein, als Sein...

It was a very nice welcome that we got to check into our room at 6am which was a nice surprise. The room was nice and the staff were helpful. The pool was also pleasant and the breakfast was very decent. Definitely recommended.

Room decoration is very good... plus the overall architecture of the hotel gives it appeal. Food is also very good.

I stayed here in February 2013 and had a wonderful time. The hotel is fairly small, located in a beautifully refurbished old colonial property. On Thursday nights they often organize international live acts in their bar. After checking in I asked for a different room since the one I initially got (beautiful inside) was on the ground floor (I don't recall the number), facing a neighboring property and consequently didn't get much light. They then not only gave me a room with more light but put me into one of their river view suites (room 12), the room was large with a very big fully equipped bathroom and even a little balcony with a great view. For me this hotel could pass as a 5*. They offered quick overnight laundry. They also organized an airport drop for me in a nice car at a fair price (based on my limited experience here) of 1000 rupees. As a final note, the location itself does not allow much walking and is not immediately close to anything of interest (at least in my case). However, I had rented a scooter with which you're at the beach in about 10-15 minutes (and anywhere in relatively small north Goa quite quickly).

Me and family spent 5 nights in The Sol. We really enjoyed the stay in the hotel. Clean room, very good bathroom, excellent service from all the staff, good food, serene atmosphere around, relaxing air. Beaches are not very far. As for negative side, we (especially kids) missed lack of good (large) pool (what they currently they have is a small pond). The path from the road to hotel is not good (if they make is clean, neat walkable one, it definitely will add value). Spa was under renovation, so missed the soulful music while having massage. Food was very costly (but with quality and taste). Though the items in menu are limited, Chef was so helpful to prepare the items as per our suggestions, so we cant complain! Break fast choices are also limited (which I suggest they should look into). The lighting of the room was very dim. There should be at least two bright lights. Overall, we all enjoyed, and will definitely stay there again. Good luck and all the best to The Sol!

It's a charming hotel, away from the hustle bustle of the crowded Goan cities, yet accessible easily, calangute is about 3Kms. My wife and myseld had an excellent stay. Thanks especially to the staff who were very frendliy and cordial. The only negative if you may say so is the option in the restaurant was not upto par. I would recommend this hotel to any couple who wants a quite romantic getaway.

Wij hebben echt genoten van ons verblijf bij de Sol, mooi hotel, fijn personeel. De netheid van je kamer/hotel - perfect De kwaliteit van de service - voortreffelijk Hotelvoorzieningen - basis, mag iets uitgebreider, vooral het zwembad De locatie van het hotel - in the middle of 'nowhere', maar fijn om uit te rusten en te genieten van alle rust en zon!!
