Western House Hotel At Ayr Racecourse

Gorgeous bar and lounge area with exceptionally friendly staff

The courtyard rooms are dated and in need of renovation. I also was charged on my card for the booking when we paid cash on arrival. This took a few back and forth emails and calls to sort out.

Large room Bed comfortable.

Toilet tight up against wall & towel rail which made it uncomfortable. Carpet in room stained. At breakfast staff invisible! We had breakfast at 8.30 and buffet not filled up 3 hard pieces of bacon no eggs. Cold selection not filled up either scraping the bottom of the bowl of melon.

Very pleasant room. breakfast was good and evening meals were excellent

We were unfortunate that it was very wet and windy for our stay so moving from our room to the main building was a bit of a pain

My partner liked the confortable bed

Buffet breakfast lukewarm food dried up and the mess all over the serving spoon plates Also i didnt like sitting in the ballroom for breakfast No fridge in room hardly any tea coffee milk etc

This was one of the best hotels I have visited in a long while. I honestly cannot believe we paid so.little for the standard of this hotel. The food was superb in the restaurant. I have mobility problems and everyone of the staff were so helpful I must single out Gordon who helped me so much. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone thinking of giving the Races or the Ayrshire coast a visit.

There was only one thing which I feel could be improved. If you use a blue badge there are only two disabled spaces albeit there is a really big carpark. The two spaces are at the front door of the hotel which is on a slight incline.

Location was good right next to our venue which we were attending an awards night for our company

The receptionist was very abrupt. Maybe she was having a bad day however i did not need to experience this. The room was cold and the heater seemed not to be working. The room was dated with broken/loose fixings. The mattress was uncomfortable and there was a constant banging from the ventilation system!
