ULTIQA Beach Haven on Broadbeach

Great location.

Unit looking a little tired-grout coming out of floor tiles throughout living area.

Staff were amazing were accommodating .

Place and facility was not was what the pictures look like . Definitely would say false advertising. One of the most unclean hotels I have stayed at. Definitely was the downside of my trip with family .

The property was close to the beach, Oasis which had a Woolworths and restaurants and cafes. ALs close to public transport.

Our stay was split into two. Apparently when I initially booked, we booked into an un- renovated room. To say this was the dirtiest, most unkept room I have ever seen would be an understatement. When we arrived there was sand all over the second room’s beds, all over the lounges. Hair around the sinks, and on surfaces like bed side tables. There were water bottles and other papers left around that were not ours. There was visible mould in the ensuite bathroom, all over the ceiling. There were broken tiles in the bathrooms, which posed a danger to children- literally sharp tiles falling off the wall. I expressed all the above and the hotel staff offered no suggestions- they just said yes you booked a unrenovated room. The hotel offered another clean to get rid of the sand throughout. They came as we were heading out the door for the day. I briefly told them the issues with the sand but when we came back they hadn’t changed the sheets as discussed with reception. When I called reception they asked me whether I had briefed the cleaners. I said no I expected the hotel to brief them as we had spoken previously. Why would I be staying to brief cleaners? On the fourth day I complained, particularly expressing concern about the mould issue. We got moved to a renovated room on the sixth floor and that was much better. It turned our stay around. Other strange things - I called in advance to check whether the hotel offered pool towels. They said yes so I didn’t pack them with me. When we got there they said oh yes we do have towels, but you have to pay for them. You could replenish your towel once per day. Also during our stay in the high season, they had decided to upgrade one of the 3 lifts. So it was down to two lifts operating. It was often a long wait of around 10 minutes. Then the second lift broke, so it was down to 1 lift. Very strange to service a lift during the high season but maybe there was a reason for it.

Great location, apartment was very clean.

The lift area on the floor was very old and dated, could do with a coat of paint to clean it up.

I’m little confused that there are so my rules about cleaning before you leave. When we arrived it looked clean but the floors were not very clean we found long black hair everywhere. Pretty disgusting as I was walking around with no shoes
