My wife and I just returned from spending 5 nights at this resort. Strong points include the location away from congestion, setting on a very pretty (and very shallow) bay that is outstanding for windsurfing. Within 2 miles of the resort we could reliably spot groups of flamingos rooting in marshy areas off the road - and plenty of wild donkeys happy to take our carrots. The rooms were simple but comfortable, and the daily cleaning service was excellent. The Reef Bar (an entity independent from the resort itself) is a beautiful open air setting - had one excellent and one mediocre dinner there - free breakfasts were quite nice. On a less positive note, I agree with a review submitted August 2025 that the word "Luxury" in the resort name belies an underlying spotty service performance, particularly at the front desk/admin level. The first sign of struggle was in the failure of the resort to request the balance due 30 days prior to our arrival - which I recognized only 3 weeks prior, and raised concerns that I had made an error in the reservation. 2 emails sent on consecutive days were ignored - eventually requiring a phone call placed by me in order to confirm the reservation and send the balance due. The staff is comprised of a large number of interns from a hotel/hospitality program in the Netherlands, many of whom appeared unhappy - and many of whom struggled with basic functions such as checking us in, and out, of the resort. There are no dedicated staff for such things as moving luggage to and from rooms (I carried both ways), or responding to service requests reliably (unfixed coffee maker, failure to make a restaurant reservation). A second point relevant to the "luxury" moniker is that day visitors are welcomed, and provided with access to the beachfront cabanas and lounges located directly in front of our "Premium Oceanfront Beach House". We were told at the start of our stay that only 5 of the 25 beach house units were rented, but on 2 of the 4 full days we spent at this resort, the parking lot was nearly full and all of the cabanas directly in front of us occupied. Several other resorts we checked on had security gates and did not allow visitors in - more consistent with a luxury accommodation. This resort has the potential to be a premium destination, but there's a good bit of work to be done.

Great location away from the huddle of the west side of the island yet close enough to town and sights.

Side by side beach houses with connecting door was too loud. We heard every peep of our housemates and for the money had more exclusive expectations.

The beachfront rooms were lovely with a beautiful patio and an essential outdoor shower. A la carte breakfast was included, appreciated, and was really yummy some days, but really not great on other days. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. The new front of house restaurant manager was a needed asset to the Reef Bar restaurant. I honestly didn't want to leave the hotel for its informal, laid-back, relaxing atmosphere in comfortable accommodation. Dunkerbeck Windsurf Centre onsite was great!. The windsurfing in the lagoon is fantastic and right at your door.

The gardens and garden pathways need a tidy and refurbishment. One staff member needs training in general, basic courtesy.
