Villa Marbella Suites

We enjoyed our stay very much. I was unsure about the mango room at first. Reviews were a little mixed about if it was cozy enough for two. But I'm glad we chose that room. It was perfect for us. The futon was cozy and the AC worked well. Thank goodness for the little extra things Leah and Gunnar added to the room - such as off spray and Aloe gel, beach towels, etc. they were a great help. We rarely take trips without our furry family member, and the fact that they let us enjoy the company of their dog(s) during swims was a bonus for us. We also really liked the location. It's was never a long trip to get to our planned activities or to see new beaches. My partner's phone stayed well connected to wifi. Mine was on and of both of us use ATT. Overall, fantastic stay. This is a vacation we will surely remember!

We went to St. Thomas with the sole goal of enjoying as many beaches as possible and to snorkel daily. We rented a car and we found driving easy and eventful. We took our Garmin with its updated maps and it got us to 95% of our destinations. The Garmin was indispensable during night driving! I think the taxis are fine, but I would recommend driving. Parking was never a problem and generally we were able to park for free. We took the ferry to St. John and that was well worth the time and small expense. We would like to go and rent something for a month after we retire in a few years.

Very good stay. Comfortable, well kept place. A nice walking trail to beach. Very good level of customer service.

We thought this place was perfect, exactly what we were looking for. Leah and Gunnar were fantastic, very welcoming and gracious hosts. The room was small but well-kept and clean. We much preferred this personalized option to staying at a hotel/resort. They had tons of suggestions for what to do on the island.

Wonderful location for those who enjoy being off the beaten path. Walk to beach is fun...cute little bar at the beach. We enjoyed a local band as well. Gorgeous views.

Very nice place close to town. If you are looking for a clean nice place with a great view this is worth it. Short hike down the hill to Sanctuary Cove on the one side and Bluebeard ' s cove on the other. You do need a car to get around which you can rent through the hotel. Leah and Gunnar are great hosts. Getting picked up/dropped off at the airport with your car waiting for you simplified things...

This is a wonderful property, great location, great hosts, nice amenities. Will certainly say there again.

From the moment we stepped foot on the property my wife and I were treated like family! It was obvious the owners of this property really do care about the LEVEL OF SERVICE they provide TO YOU and genuinely have deep heartfelt concern for their client's well being. Cable TV, Internet Wi-Fi, "Honor System" fully stocked frig w/ all forms of drinks @ affordable prices, Rental cars that are below mark prices that are waxed and cleaned before you take possession of them just to name some nice touches that await you.Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

The location and views at this hotel were absolutely amazing. The facilities were well kept, and by far the greatest part of the stay was how accommodating the owners were. It is a bit out of the way, but my husband and I actually enjoyed how secluded it was, and that we had a beach all to ourselves. The only downside was that if we went again we would stay in another room. We were warned about the room being small beforehand, and yes it is very small, but good for the price we paid. It was however a concrete room with no view, smaller than all the others and had no wifi. This was a minor downside as we didn't stay in our room much of the time. I would recommend this hotel to others and stay again, just at any of the other rooms with the hindsight we have now.

I scoured the internet and read a ton of reviews before staying at Villa Marbella, so I felt like I knew what I was getting into. I'm happy to report that my high expectations were met. As everybody before me has written, the room (Cruzan, in my case) was clean and comfortable, the owners were friendly and helpful, and the location was beautiful. It overlooks Frenchman's Bay, and the view from our private little front porch was spectacular. We ate breakfast there every morning before heading out, and we ate dinner up by the pool watching the sunset and the departing cruise ships. The beach is a short walk down the hill, and yes there is a walk back up, but I would certainly not call it arduous. There's a lot to look at on the way. And the seclusion of the beach is worth the trek. On our last morning we had it all to ourselves. I will also echo that you need a car, and recommend getting one from Leah. She was waiting for me at the airport full of tips and tricks about getting around on the island (ask her about the app to use for GPS). Having my own vehicle got me to all the different beaches, and got me to Red Hook to take the ferry to St John to explore there as well. I can't really think of anything negative to say. I'm glad I chose this place to stay over a crowded resort.
