Days Inn by Wyndham Watford Gap

Really dated building and rooms. Dirty looking floor and bathroom have that damp musty smell as extraction fans are not fit for purpose. Rooms are dark and depressing. Won't be booking again. Pay a little extra and get a room at a Holiday inn or Travelodge.

the room did not have the wet room only bath which husband couldn't use. the bed was not joined underneath the mattress and kept moving

This is a great place to stop over, the reception staff are lovely and really helpful, I think the ladies name was Sarah. The room was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was not as good, the fan didn’t work which has subsequently made the metal toilet roll holders and other metal items rusty and the bath was badly chipped which made it look dirty. We had 2 large double beds that were clean and comfortable with extra pillows I would stay there again.

As long as you want comfort, good water pressure in the shower, a safe space to stay, its for you. You can get food at the pub down the road, or McDonalds next door. Rooms are good size, but you're looking out onto either carpark or portacabins. No noise though, despite proximity to M1. Bath could fo with updating (a bit water-stained). Beds firm and comfy. Extra pillows provided. Wall heater good and easy to just switch on and off. Kettle, with tea and coffee (just the basics), plus hair dryer on wall and tv. Parking in front of hotel.

Watford Gap Hotel Process of booking and taking money easy, then customer service appalling. Arrived at hotel after a full nights work and had had my booking cancelled as a “no show”. Despite ringing the night before to say traffic and work means I cannot book in until the morning. No key available, no record of my booking. Left me with no where to sleep and a 5 hour drive after working through the night. Then refusal to give me a refund. Or accept that they need to change processes.

This service on the motorway network is very handy

The staff and location are the only thing this hotel have going for it. The staff member (older gentleman at night) was really helpful and friendly. The room was well cleaned. The location on M1 is convenient and accessible via a service road to both north and southbound. Now the bad bit. To say this hotel is run down is an understatement. Our room (31) was tired and old. There were age old wear and tear, damage to the bath, stains and the window wouldn't close properly (on a motorway 😞). The bathroom door squeaked so bad I'm sure it woke everyone around us. The TV worked and it was a nice smart Samsung one. Unfortunately it had no signal and no internet, so completely useless really. The bed was soft to the point of sitting meant you almost sank to the floor. I would not stay here again and would think twice about other Days Inn if this is how they are kept. We arrived at 23:30 and were awoken by lorries reversing (window not closing etc) at 06:15 so just got up and left as no TV to watch, no internet and nothing else keeping us in the hovel of a room. I would not recommend to my worst enemy. Sorry

Great location just off the motorway and right beside the services. Very friendly staff. My room was comfortable and clean
