Guesthouse Narakomachi

This guesthouse is very close by the station, just a short walk away. Lovely place, very clean and well decorated room. Absolutely loved the stay there. Amenities were great, easy to get to temples and Nara park from the guest house. Very clean and staff very helpful. Would stay again.

Feather doona and soft pillows that are nit made of plastic beads like other hotels. Close to station so convient when dragging luggage. Nice, friendly and welcoming service.

Lovely little place which provides a very warm and comforting stay. The staff were great and the room was very clean. I would recommend this place to any friends looking to stay in Nara as it is not only affordable but also high quality.

Very cute, very friendly staff, not many bells and whistles but that's what I expected when booking. The rooms are very nicely decorated and feel super cozy, they have tea and water available downstairs. Really great place for a very reasonable price, honestly one of my favorite places I stayed in my trip to Japan, absolutely would recommend.

Nice private bunk bed room with basic amenities and nice host at reasonable price . Walking distance of around 5-7mins from JR NARA station

Absolutely loved Nara as a family of 4 . Great place to ride bikes . Unfortunately our last night/2 days in Japan . It’s very chilled after the big cities. Great last impression!

Nara Komachi was a fantastic hostel. I stayed here one night in a private double bed room. The room was clean and the bed was the best I had in Japan. The staff was friendly and the hostel is 5 minutes walking to the train station of Nara and 15-20 minutes to Nara Park. Recommended.

I had a short 2 day stay before attending a conference in Kyoto. Nara itself is a lovely place and I’m very glad I visited. The guesthouse is ideally located for JR Nara and is a pleasant and easy walk to everywhere you’d want to go. I stayed in a ‘Japanese style’ room (slightly different from ryokan I’ve stayed in). It was clean, comfortable and excellent value. The staff have excellent English and are happy to explain things (I.e. air con controls which are in Japanese!) and kindly illustrated a city map for me with all the best places to visit. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend, especially for student/budget travellers looking for somewhere affordable but still quiet, clean and comfortable. It has everything you need. For visiting Nara, I’d recommend trying a tour with Nara Guide Club. My guide (Yukinori Kawabe) was a retired primary school teacher who was a wonderful ambassador for his city and helped me get the most out of my short visit without simply trekking from one tourist hotspot to the next. It’s free, and a great way to learn about the area, it’s history, culture and people from someone who really knows!
