Guesthouse Narakomachi

A very comfortable and clean room.Staff were kind and helpful. Convenient for visiting Nara attractions.

This was an awesome location and beautifully furnished room with chairs and bunk beds. Was a very comfortable mix of a traditional ryokan and Western hotel room. We were in walking distance of all the best areas in Nara and rented a bike from the hotel one of the days we were there. The only gripe I had was some hairs were found in the top bunk area so the cleanliness could be improved.

Very modern, well designed inn. Room was a decent size, with a bathroom that uses small space in a functional way. Room was comfortable, the staff member we dealt with (owner?) was very friendly, took our bags up to our room after we dropped them (before check-in), and offered a selection of anime to read etc. I can see why this place has such great reviews, we would definitely stay here again!

This is one of the best stays I have had in Japan. As I arrived at Guesthouse Narakomachi (very conveniently located near the JR Nara Station), I was warmly greeted by the staff. They provided some recommendations as to where to go in Nara, which I found extremely helpful. The Japanese-style room was very comfortable, and amenities were simple yet sufficient for a pleasant stay. Cleanliness was maintained to a very high standard. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place to stay in Nara.

Small guesthouse, close to train station. Not much to offer, except cheap rate. room tiny, with the bathroom area separated from bed space by a glass window; if you need privacy, then you can pull down a window shade. There is no closet space, no window to look out, although the bath space has a small opaque window for a bit of light. The bed was fine, and hot water for shower plentiful- have to wait a few minutes. The mini-sink has only cold water. They provide one, very thin, warn bath towel. Common space, including entrance and hallway is cluttered.

This was the perfect spot. Close to the public transportation which made it easy to get to. We rented bikes for only 500 yen a day from the guesthouse and road all over Nara Park. The room had its own shower and bathroom. Everything was super clean and very stylish.

Great location near Nara station. Lovely room with really comfortable bed. The man at reception was was very nice and helpful, giving us lots of information about the area and things to see and do. We also hired bikes from him for a bargain ¥500 for the day. Would definitely recommend!

The hotel personel provide useful information about the surrounding area for sightseeing. You’ll be welcome back with warm drinks and pastries in the evening after your day trip outside, it is a personal touch of the accomodation.

Modern rooms with comfy beds which is a great advantage, lovely people who run the gueshouse and are there for you, central location. Highly recommend it!
