"The only Zoo-Resort in the World"

Very friendly Staff and Owner, delicious food, the rooms are somewhat small according to European standards, and the bathroom quite simple. You can enjoy romantic diners on the beach, organized by the staff, island day-trip tour, or island hopping. You are living among tropical birds, animals, be ready to be wake up each morning at 6:00am by loud cries and noise from the birds. Noisy aircon also, but that's Filipino standard. But if you like animals, birds, or have kids, they should love it. Internet is a problem to be resolved.

the owner has done a great job in creating a Hof on this island;its a one hour boat ride though which you need to book in advance great ambiance and great service you need to go to the hotel s own web site to get the right contact nos

"Relaxing Idyllic Hotel"

Lovely relaxing hotel, good service. Very isolated with a real back to nature feel. Hard to get to only 2 ferries per day 9am and 1pm, if you miss these, be prepared to pay the room rate again to book a private boat,....

"Awesome relaxation in a tropical setting!!"

I just completed my stay at Hof Gorei and it is hard to express the extent my complete satisafaction. I read some of the previous reviews and will admit that if you are very old & infirm, or are traveling with small children, Hof Gorei might not be your "cup of tea". But if you want true relaxation in a tropical setting with unparralelled service, then Hof Gorei is for you. I found the value to be exceptional compared to other resorts in the area. If you are looking for "noise", or distractions....then stay away!! But if you want great personal service from individuals who only know service with a smile, then this is your place. I spent 3 days with them, took the opportunity to go on an island hopping excursion that included snorkeling & a beach catered lunch under the trees; then an inland tour that was incredible. I am already planning my next trip & have emailed other friends from the USA to let them know about this "true pearl of the Philippines"!! Thanks to Gadiel, our butler, Moman & Madame April for allowing us to share in their little island paradise.

"Great place for a retreat!"

Totally satisfied with the "personal butler" style service. Great place to stay for those looking for peace and quiet with beautiful view of Davao Gulf and Mount Apo. I do not recommend it to those who cannot tolerate strenous hiking due to the steep hill location, a lot of steps to climb up and down to our cottage.
