Warm hospitality from Jo and Peter. Very knowledgable about all of New Zealand. Superb comfort and lovely scenery. Excellent food and attention to detail in every aspect. Our hosts truly enjoy providing a first class experience.

"Wonderful Stay"

Our host, Jo, was delightful, friendly and a wonderful cook! We loved everything about Matuka Lodge - it was the best place we stayed in the 10 days of our NZ trip. Although on the pricier side due to lack of similar options in the area, the comfort and wonderful house more than made up for it. My Husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely fabulous place to stay. The ambiance, smells, view are just amazing and the hosts are absolutely adorable. You HAVE TO stay here if you are considering this area and place. 100% you wont be dissappointed...garanteed.

Beautiful views and very comfortable. Jo was kind enough to drive us into town for dinner since we had already started enjoying some NZ wine. My only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer.

"One of the highlights of our New Zealand adventure"

Matuka was one of the highlights of our three week trip to New Zealand. Wonderful hosts and great views from the property. Borrowed bikes and road a 17.5 kilmometer loop that afforded magnificent views of the peaks and and rural life in this small relatively untouched community. Looking forward to returning to New Zealand someday and Matuka will definitely be part of our visit!

"What a lodge!"

Peter and Joe and the rest of the Matuka lodge family were amazing and made this experience so special. We received a warm welcome, enjoyed a delicious breakfast, received some well known local tips and had a blast!!

Lovely facility, great hospitality. Unfortunately weather was poor during our stay, but the comfort of the lodge helped to offset the disappointment of no views of the lakes or Mt. Cook. Very convenient to Twizel.
