Great location - fabulous pub accommodation with helpful and friendly staff

the staff were brilliant. location fantastic , had everything you need. one of the best breakfasts I’ve had , better than many luxury hotels .

on arrival there was no one there to check us in at 3pm, the room had insuficient coat hangers, the quilt on the bed was damaged, bathroom towels were never refreshed, bins never emptied, milk, sugar were never replenished, one of the window blinds would not open, finally, the breakfast im fairly sure was cooked the night previously, and put in warming trays, the bacon was so hard and dry it shattered on impact with fork, hash browns were dark brown, eggs were like frizzbys rock hard, 2 mushrooms cut in half, the worst breakfast ever, will be sending review to trip advisor.

The rooms were good and the beds very comfy The bar had a good selection of drinks and the staff were great The location was good with easy access to the town Breakfast was very good

The menu on the night we stayed was limited i am afraid but i cant comment on other days of the week

Rooms nice - uneven floors due to the age of the building. Staff extremely helpful. The town of Uppingham is really nice - wish we'd been there when the various shops were open!

We were told of "possible events" - but the group playing on the night we were there were quite loud (!) - and we are heading into old age - although they did stop playing at 11 p.m. Breakfast a bit haphazard - you need proper menus - not "Whatever you like"....

Dirty carpets, freezing cold attic room with bed sloping backwards (feet were above head). Terrible draft. Woke up freezing cold.

Lovely friendly people, hotel was basic but ok. Beds were comfy but very creaky. Ok for a one night stay.
