MainStay Suites Kew

Breakfast was self catering. Premises convenient - we have stayed there several times before.

We did not expect or seek a double storey unit, with master bedroom and one other and 2 bathrooms upstairs, and lounge, kitchen and one bedroom downstairs but no bathroom or toilet. Although in our eighties, fortunately we can both climb stairs, but it was not at all convenient.

So grateful they were pet friendly , and that they reduced "pet cleaning fee" from $350 to $150. Never having paid a " pet cleaning fee" or a parking fee , I was pretty gobsmacked at the add ons . I had 1 set of single use amenities , 1 single use detergent, 3 tea bags , 1 garbage bag and the same towels for the 1st week. Asked at the desk a couple of times and emailed for some green tea or herbal tea , but no follow up. Apart from that , the staff were lovely , bed comfy , 1980s spaciousness and perfect location . 2026 Melbourne , I would have thought they'd have the coffee machine together , but maybe thats just me.

Apartment was spacious, clean, very comfy bed & well equipped kitchen & laundry. Had everything we needed for a 5 night stay. Location was in a beautiful quiet area of Kew with supermarket next door, restaurants & various trams to city all a few minutes walk. Open air terrace lovely to sit on & have a drink after a busy day. Underground car park very secure & spacious - don't know why some people posted negative reviews.

We were here for the Formula 1 & all accommodation places doubled their normal price - we really enjoyed our stay at these apartments but it ended up being expensive for what it was.
