"No designated dog-free area despite information on web site. Customers with dog allergies should avoid at all costs."

2.0

Do not book a meal here if you have a dog allergy. Despite the advertised Terms and Conditions, there is no longer a designated area for dogs and no longer any guarantee that you will be seated well away from dogs or that dogs will not have been in the same area before you. My family have been very regular and loyal customers over many years, but I was told today by the owner - when I arrived for a Mother's Day meal booked several weeks earlier for my Mum (81) - that a dog would be on the next table in the supposedly dog-free room of the restaurant and that 'dogs are an integral part of our culture as a traditional coaching inn.' Also that he 'doesn't like dogs either and would personally prefer not to have dogs in his restaurant but that's just how things are now...' Having a severe allergy has nothing to do with liking or disliking dogs. It simply means that you need to be clear about a restaurant's policy on dogs when you make a booking in order to prevent the possibility of a life-threatening reaction. In the end, the rest of my party ate at the restaurant (because it was too late to find an alternative at 3pm on Mother's Day) and I was unable to join them, due to my allergy, which ruined our Mother's Day celebrations. This review is posted to help other people who have a dog allergy.

Lovely area, lively pub, very good food and drink. The restaurant staff were very friendly and professional and overall the service was excellent.

Nothing springs to mind, apart from limited parking.

"A gem at the heart of Easingwold Town Centre"

10.0

We have truly fallen for the town of Easingwold, and this pub is gem at the heart of the town centre. We have been a few time for drinks and we were always impressed with the level personality, professionalism and friendliness the staff showed to us. Today we decided to book for Sunday lunch, table of 4 with 2 kids, 2 adults and our pooch. The service was incredible and it truly warmed our hearts how personable they were with our kids. A shout out to Paul (hope I remembered his name correctly) who really made the effort to make our meal truly memorable. Price, portions and quality were all above our expectations and we will be returning again. This was truly a team effort, all of whom were constantly on the move and working it appears to make everyone’s experience seamless, comfortable and of the highest standard. I would truly recommend a visit, whether for drinks or food.

"Fab evening"

10.0

Fab evening at the George, as always. Great selection of craft ales and always good fun at the bar. The only thing I was concerned about was an average looking guy on a date ( clearly punching ) who was unable to finish his pint. Think he might have been on a promise but that’s no excuse not to finish a pint. The staff were really supportive and signposted him to rehab so that he could relearn how to drink a pint properly.
