Bathroom very small but modern and clean

The George Hotel usually serves some excellent food. My wife booked it for a meal out to celebrate my Birthday. Unfortunately, this became the first time I've ever walked out of their restaurant. The menu didn't really offer a wide selection of foods and seemed to be heavily weighted towards fish, with three fish dishes as starters and another three as mains. Then the waitress came round with a list of specials, including fish pie, mussels and the catch of the day! My wife opted for a halloumi burger but asked if she could have some pulled pork with it. I chose the steak pie. A few minutes later we were told that they had run out of pulled pork and didn't have any pies left. Maybe they had sold out of those because no one wants that much fish? As there was nothing on the menu that we wanted, we left and got a takeaway instead. Very disappointing.

Friendly staff, great food and a clean and comfortable room.

Staff friendly, large room, bed, clean. Bath/shower also well maintained, clean. Noise from other rooms and pub was limited, not too late at night.
