Clarkes hotel, A grand heritage hotel since 1898

Nice hotel on the mall and close to some government offices which was my requirement. Do not expect a modern building but this heritage building is clean, staff excellent, food good, fuss free, quiet and safe, overall i enjoyed my stay.

Fabulous hotel. The service here is impeccable. We got an upgrade to a suite room which was large and spacious. It had a small study a living area a bedroom and walk-in closet. The bathroom was huge too. It’s right in mall road so convenient to step out for a walk. The himachali food at the restaurant was delicious.

Had a FABULOUS time. Lovely, clean and quiet town. Very safe and friendly. Great experience to go up on the toy train and come back on the car motorail. Clarke's was so good, comfortable and convenient to the Mall. I wish we had had longer and look forward to another stay later. Only government cars can drive on the Mall so safe, quiet and easy to negotiate. The old Gaiety theatre a REAL gem. WONDERFUL that this piece of history still exists and has been restored. So much history in Shimla, well worth a visit and magnificent scenery and sunsets. Thank you Shimla and India.

very nice hotel with super hospitality. Had some some issues with noise from outside. Could not sleep well due to some construction work outside. Overall had a pleasant experience. Breakfast buffet served on the table with beautiful outside views.

Its one of the best property to stay in Shimla. Its bang on the Shimla mall road so u need to just keep your step out of hotel and u are in between the beautiful wonderful crowd of mall road. The staff of the hotel is nice. A monkey smashed the front windscreen of my car in the hotel parking. The Hotel staff got it repaired the same day and even paid for the new windscreen. Hotel did this to make my stay happy. I really appreciate their positive approach. I strongly recommend that if you are going to Shimla then you must stay in this property.

Eclxcellent location at one end of Mall Road. Excellent service - kudos to Oberoi’s for its warm hospitality. Hotel is outdated though. Breakfast very average. The worst part of our stay is that our room had no outside window - only a window opening into the corridor: we were not informed of this at the time of booking. We would have paid extra to get a room with a view. This particular room certainly wasn’t value for our money.

Hotel is well located, staff amazing and room very comfortable - but for one of the oldest hotels in Shimla and where mr Oberoi first started work it is a shame that the decor is so bland and boring. It calls itself a heritage hotel but there is nothing heritage about the hotel decor. It is a massive wasted opportunity.
