Posada del Cortes Hotel

Close to town center and the Malecon. Easy walk to anything. Very good staff, friendly and professional. Also highly recommend Sea and Land Tours for snorkeling, kayaking and hiking tours. Many good restaurants in downtown area. Zopilote Brewing has very good beers and food.

Posada del Cortes is a small, charming hotel with very comfortable rooms in a great location. You can easily walk to the Malecon, the Square, The Mission, shops and restaurants.

Quaint, quiet and perfect location

The property is wonderfully situated near the town center. The grounds were attractive and well cared for. There were a few very small things I will suggest. Add a trash can in the room. There was only a small, closed one in the bathroom. Like many hotels, the outside lighting is very bright, not “dark sky” friendly. The first night I slept with an eye mask. After that, the manager showed where to turn off the lights outside my room for the night. One last thing. The shower had a very slow drain. I was up to my ankles in standing water.

Beware! I was charged $190. 00 for one night. When I arrived the rate the hotel charged was $45! I don’t know who is at fault, Expedia or the hotel. The woman at the front desk told me to always book through the hotel directly. $190 a night was a huge stretch for this hotel. A big ripoff

A bit tricky to locate entrance but worth the effort. Easy checkin. Room on 2nd level was lovely with king bed, nice linens, two balconies, mini kitchen well stocked with dishes, glassware, wine carafe, etc. Great location with easy access to malecón along water, historic sites, restaurants and shopping. Parking across the street is secure and locked at night.
