Posada del Cortes Hotel

We stayed here for two nights and walked around historic Loreto and the malecon. Discovered several new restaurants easily within walking distance. Very quiet and comfortable hotel.

Great location and a wonderful rooftop terrace with partial view of the Mission

Loreto is the jewel of BCS so it’s name “Pueblo Magico”is perfect. Geologically beautiful, water, Islands, perfect in every way. Although it caters to tourists, “real people”live here and you see families with children living their lives. NOT Cabo- yeah!

We loved the roof top l patio that looked out over the town. Especially when the carillon from the Loreto mission church was playing at sunset. The entire feel of the property was old time, Spanish colonial elegance. Our room had a balcony that looked out over the street, and we enjoyed our morning coffee watching people heading off to work. The hotel is only a short walk from the malacon and the historic downtown area. We read a couple of reviews that mentioned a noise problem from the bar next door, but that was not an issue we experienced. Possibly because ours was a mid-week stay.I If we ever get a chance to visit the beautiful town of Loreto again we would absolutely come back to stay at the Posada del Cortes.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The common area is great, but the fountain was not working. It adds to the ambience and overall impression. Room was adequate for an overnight stay. Very clean.

This boutique hotel is very quaint and charming, and an amazing value for what you get! The staff are attentive and helpful, the hotel itself is fairly new and beautiful and the location is great - right in the centre of town. The room was very clean and the maid service was excellent, even providing new water bottles every day. My only feedback is that room #1 (where we stayed) is quite noisy as it is below the patio in the room above, next to the communal courtyard and shares a wall with the El Dorado Hotel office next door so it was quite noisy in the wee hours of the morning (i.e. 3 am) for several of the nights we were there. Overall, highly recommend this hotel!

We needed a hotel that would accept a dog since we were driving down to Los Barriles from Vancouver BC with our pet. We couldn't have been happier with this beautiful boutique hotel just off the main road in a quiet location. The evening manager was waiting for us and carried our heavy bags up to our room and directed us to a locked parking lot. We will book this hotel for our drive home in May.

Have had horrible experiences in Mexico over the years. I was a bit apprehensive this time around but that quickly diminished mid day on arrival. Loreto, unlike other Mexico cities is more like an island in the stream. It's proximity to the Baja and the Sea of Cortex is breathtaking. You can actually walk around day or night safe and comfortable. The people very friendly and knowledgeable even if there's a language barrier. My hotel was wonderful. It's location to the Malarcon (boardwalk) extremely close. Market, restaurants, Mission withing easy walking distance. Free Wifi plentiful. Would return in a heartbeat.
