A beautiful heritage property that is very well maintained. Has a lovely view of the kanchenjunga mountain range (unfortunately the weather wasn't conducive on the days we stayed there to enjoy the view) They have very competent and polite staff, really good food, we enjoyed all the meals we had on the property. The hotel is very cozy and clean and we thoroughly enjoyed staying there. Would definitely go back.

The spa treatment was less than subpar. Honestly docking the rating purely for this reason, their senior therapist was very insensitive, did not listen to what we wanted from our treatment, kept speaking continuously for 45mins out of a 1 hr treatment. We had clearly mentioned and also selected, a mild pressure relaxation massage, as we just wanted to unwind on our anniversary and relax. The therapist insisted on doing hard pressure, to the point that my husband was screaming from pain, after mentioning 5 times to stop and that we want to relax finally in the last 10 mins she kept quiet and followed our preference. Honestly was the least relaxing massage of our lives and was also very subpar in quality low for the price paid. The premium rooms which are new are wonderful, the only drawback is that they are a walk from the main building where the lounge and restaurant are, when it's cold being outdoors and also walking uphill is not for an aged traveller. Would be great if they can invest in a buggy as it would make a huge difference to the experience.
