"Peace and quiet in a relaxing setting."

10.0

An excellent and wide choice for breakfast. The hotel was in a quiet location and within close proximity to a number of excellent tavernas and the beach. In addition, it was only a short walk to the bus stop for frequent buses along the coast and into Chania.

They wasn't anything not to like.

"Total Relaxation"

10.0

We had such a wonderful experience during our stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely attentive—nothing was too much trouble, and their local knowledge made our trip even more enjoyable. The cleaners worked hard to keep not only rooms but complex tidy and clean everyday apart from Sunday. Our stay was exceptionally relaxing. The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet, perfect for unwinding and taking a real break from the hustle and bustle. We especially appreciated the variety offered at breakfast each morning—there were plenty of options to suit every taste, all fresh and delicious. The location was also perfect, with plenty of restaurants and shops just a short walk away. Even the beach was only a ten-minute walk, making it easy to enjoy the best of the area without needing transport. We’re already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

"Perfect location, excellent service, great accommodation"

10.0

I’d highly recommend Minos Village. Everything about it was enjoyable and easy. We stayed for two weeks on a bed and breakfast basis. We arrived after reception had closed and had somehow missed the instructions for how to get in, but there was a phone number on the door. I was able to call via WhatsApp to avoid charges, and they answered straight away, giving me the key safe code. The apartment was spacious, cleaned daily, well soundproofed, and the air conditioning was quiet and efficient. We had one small issue—the beds were two singles, which isn’t ideal for a couple—but a quick chat with reception and it was resolved in no time. The pool is a little on the small side, so it might not suit a serious swimmer, but it’s more than adequate for cooling off. Leftover inflatables from previous guests are stored safely, so you can help yourself without needing to buy one. We really liked the location. It’s slightly tucked away from the high street, but only a five-minute walk. The area feels like a lovely little community, with some of the very best restaurants nearby. We dubbed it the gastronomy quarter.

"Clean friendly, perfect position with walking distance to some fabulous restaurants. The pool can be noisy with children"

6.0

We arrived late, reception was closed, there was a note with instructions to find our room which we knew about, however the lovely barman was just closing the bar and insisted on helping us to our room. First impression was great, our room was spotless and a good size with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. Our first day was spent by the pool after we had done a small supermarket shop. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed by the layout and lack of space around the pool the sun beds are mainly along one wall almost touching each other, they are directly in front of properties which is a bit awkward if they are sat outside on thier terrace. The way the pool is central with the properties all around made the sounds coming from children from the pool echo which can be very noisy during busy months. We had to go in August so if you want a peaceful read around the pool dont go in the school holidays. We also found the pool to be in need of a clean, in the 2 weeks we were there we used the pool twice. We always go self catering as we enjoy eating lunch and dinner out, we dont book breakfast as this would spoil our appetite for lunch The one other thing that disappointed us was there was a large filter coffee machine we never used, a sandwich maker when we would have made a better use of a toaster for breakfast, we have always had toasters as toasted sandwiches tend to be available at most pool bars we wouldn't bother buying products to make them. The other thing was the hairdryer, If you want to actually dry or style your hair or have long hair this dryer is not for you, its is wall based and in the bathroom, it would barely dry your hands so I suggest you take your own. Having said all this... Minos village is spotless, the house keeping is spot on all staff are hard working, friendly and it's a good place for children. There was never anyone around the bar of an evening which we did miss so made sure we didn't rely on going back to mingle with other guests as we have always been use to. We did tend to spend an hour after coming back from a day on the beach, the happy hour was always popular but it did tend to go quiet after that time. Bar snacks and drinks were great. We would not return only due to the lack of space around the pool as I felt it to be a little too compact. We did find other guests our age in a couple did have similar opinions. Also as we had a late return flight we enquired about having the room for the day, we were told we could pay €140 to book it or wait until the day before for a better rate, as the room had not been taken we were offered it for €70 which we did pay, we were a little disappointed it wasn't less having had spend 2 weeks there.

"Overall good"

8.0

Nice hotel.Great staff.Big apartmen, cleaned daily.Pleasant breakfast. We asked if could move as balcony not big enough for 3 of us to sit out but could not move us so had to sit inside when returning of an evening which was a disappointment. Also asked for different pillow, sadly couldn't accommodate this. Pool nice and warm but gets quite shaded in most places throughout the day. Otherwise a pleasant place to stay.

"One star!! Stay away from this total gem of a hotel please so I can always come back!"

10.0

I'm sitting by the pool on our last day writing this review, When we arrived really late, Nedi the barman came out, greeted us, got our keys for us and then stayed late to allow us to have some drinks after a long day. Perfect start. Great Cocktails, great banter and a great guy. Across the days here I realised that the staff are what makes this beautiful hotel even better than it already is. No fighting for sunbeds, no Blaring music by the pool, just respectful people laughing with their kids in the pool, relaxing and being human beings. Joseph and Selda at breakfast and the restaurant are both lovely people, always a smile, and a chat, we were always welcomed warmly. Food is always to an exceptional level, delicious. Rooms are cleaned to a really high standard, the ladies work so hard all day and are always happy to assist. Anna and Constantine at reception helped us book taxis, called anyone we needed to do the work for us and were a joy to deal with always. I can tell you this, We never go back to a place again normally. I would come here again in a second. I think the staff here, all of them, are the very best I have encountered. I would go as far as to say we made a few friends who I'm very glad I met and I will always remember fondly. Hopefully we meet them again, I hope so. If you are the owner reading this review. Your staff, Nedi, Joseph and all the rest are exceptional and you are very lucky to have them. If you are planning to come here.... Well done, what a decision. Dan, Mary-ann and family 🍺

"A fab stay at Minos Village"

10.0

Fabulous Stay at Minos Village We had a wonderful stay at Minos Village. The room was spacious and immaculate, cleaned daily (except Sunday) with fresh sheets and towels provided regularly. The reception, bar, and pool area were also kept spotlessly clean, which really added to the experience. There was a small issue with the pool water balance at the start of our stay, which unfortunately discoloured white swimwear, but to the hotel’s credit, this was resolved within a few days. The bar staff were always friendly and helpful, and the food was a real highlight – freshly cooked to order, delicious, and absolutely worth the short wait. One area that could be improved is the number of sun loungers. Like many hotels, there were guests reserving them early in the day. On the occasion we did, some guests weren’t happy – not that we reserved them because they were reserving them too, but because we knew each other and apparently that makes all the difference (simply four families with overlapping holidays, not a group booking, and of course, all paying guests). This was a little disappointing, but it didn’t take away from our overall enjoyment. I would say the guests that actually took sunloungers into their rooms overnight and brought them out at midday the following day were more worthy of a complaint but hey ho! The location of the hotel is fantastic – tucked away from the main road so it feels peaceful, yet still just a short walk to lovely restaurants and the beach. Overall, Minos Village gave us a fabulous holiday, and we would happily return. In fact, see you again- same time next year!

"A hidden gem with friendly staff."

10.0

Just got home after a 10 night stay at Minos village hotel. Miss it already...... I cannot recommend this hotel enough for many reasons. It is a modern and well kept hotel. Our room was very clean and spacious. The room was cleaned everyday except Sundays. (Clean bedding and towels). All the cleaners work very hard as do all of the staff. It started with a warm welcome at reception by Andreas, who took our cases up to our room. (Which smelt fresh and clean). It was well equipped and big enough with a balcony that overlooked the pool. Great air-conditioning as well, no extra charge. All of the staff are warm, friendly and happy to do anything for you. Everyday we were welcomed with a good morning and a smile. I would like to say a particular thank you to the following staff. Nedi, for making me the best cocktails 🍸 everyday. A lovely young lad who works very hard. Selda and Joseph who sort breakfast everyday, Joseph cooks the best food.... Nothing is too much trouble for them. Also on front desk there is Anna who gave us so much local information and was always making sure we were okay. There was Kostantinos (front of house) he booked all of our trips and filled us in on all of the details 😀 which was very useful. The pool area was fine for us and always found a sunbed...the bar and food area overlooks the pool. I would definitely recommend staying here as, all of the staff are a great team and really do make a difference. They also have beach towels to hire for 1.50 euro...if needed. A shower room and somewhere to store luggage are available if you are leaving late. The hotel is a 10 minutes walk to the beach. The surrounding restaurants are all good and they welcome you will a smile. Top tip....every restaurant offers complementary fruit (melon or cake) with a small decanter of Raki. There is more than restaurants within a couple of minutes walk and loads in the main town by Aiga Marina. It is worth taking a walk around some of the side roads as there are some hidden gems of restaurants. All in all definitely a lovely hotel with lovely staff in a great area. Thank you to all of you for making our stay great!

"Could be a five star review with some changes."

6.0

Could have been a five star review if the hotel didn’t take large groups and addressed some basics. We had asked for an upper floor room but on arrival at 11pm as the reception was closed we were left a note with our room number 109. This was in the bottom corner in complete darkness and the next 10 days we had to have the lights on all day. We had no natural light and no opening window so this was the main thing that ruined our stay. There was a large group of 30+ which were overly loud and on numerous occasions took all the sun loungers just before midnight so no one else had a chance to sit by the pool. This was a very small hotel maybe 40 rooms so possibly 100 max occupancy but only 25 sun loungers. We knew this might be an issue so prepared to have to go elsewhere some days. The lady manager was good and signs were put up after a number of guests complained but this did spoil the holiday for a lot of regular guests who did say they wouldn’t return again. The pool was small but adequate however the water made everyone’s swimwear green and was never got under control whilst we were there. The shower was large with good hot water but there was no light over so had to shower in the dark. The lady who cleaned our room told us off for a mark on the bed sheets saying it was from my daughter’s bikini she was extremely rude to us The positives The hotel was clean and modern The staff were friendly (except the 1 cleaner) Breakfast choice was sufficient The beds would be comfy for people with no back issues Rooms cleaned daily and towels changed The hotel was near to the Main Street and beach Lots of nice restaurants within minutes of the hotel Near to beach and shops The negatives Room was dark and out front was a table and chairs in the dark in front of the door next to the smokers next door storage was terrible 1 small wardrobe as the only storage for a family of 4 absolutely nowhere to put our clothes had to use the dining table Not really able to do self catering as no space to prepare food No opening window in room Not enough sun loungers for even half the guests Pool water issues
