"Moldy Memories in Paradise"

2.0

We were looking forward to a luxury jungle escape, but what we got was more like a mold-infested nightmare. The first room was so musty and damp we couldn’t stay in it. The second room wasn’t much better—still moldy, just less offensively so. After two days, I got seriously sick—sinus congestion and sore throat which but a damper on the rest of our trip. Not exactly the relaxing retreat we were promised. The staff was polite, but the issues were clearly not new. And for the price we paid, the condition of the rooms was completely unacceptable. This resort may be in a beautiful location, but it’s absolutely not worth the money. Mold and mildew don’t equal “eco-luxury.” Avoid it if you value your health and your wallet.

"Luxurious and relaxing retreat but with limited amenities"

10.0

I agree with other's perception that this may have been a resort some years ago but now it has shifted its focus to be more a rental development business, so overall the experience I can describe it as "renting out a luxurious AirBnB with private access to beautiful beaches". Services are very basic for a "resort". There is only one restaurant and a small groceries market. They have a spa and a zipline tour but unfortunately it was under maintenance during our stay (with no clear date of when it was going to be open again). They have also the option to arrange tours to the most visited places in Bocas (Zapatillas, Boca del Drago, Isla Pájaros, etc) but that was pretty much everything they offer in terms of services. Aside from the beach club pool and staying on the beaches there is pretty much nothing else to do, entertainment is not existent so again this is not a "resort" more like a gated community. Pros/advantages: * Unbeatable location with pristine beaches and nature. Very close to the most beautiful beaches in Bocas (Polo, Red Frog for example) * Very well equipped luxury rooms * Very quiet and relaxing resort campus * Very friendly staff * Opportunities to see wild animals like: sloths, snakes, insects, fishes, starfishes, jellyfish, dolphins, crabs, birds, frogs and monkeys Cons/disvantages: * Food options are very limited. La Rosa (the only restaurant in the resort) offers good food but it is expensive and other options near (Nachyo Momma's and Palmar Logde restaurant) but outside of the resort offer mixed quality food. There are many other options in Bastimentos Town and Bocas Town but you need to take a 20-25 min boat there ($8 per trip per person). * Upon arrival to the resort you have to always come from the main island (Colón). This is a general disadvantage of the area. * The resort is big and with sparse locations so you depend a lot of golf cart transportation (which you have to arrange with reception every time). This transport can take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes to arrive.

It is a true paradise. For the most part the staff was amazing and happy to help. Unfortunately, the staff Rosa beach club for dinner was very slow. We loved the Villa, but unfortunately, it does require a lot of maintenance (windows handles falling off, taps falling off, dripping faucet etc). Overall, we loved everything, and will definitely conciser coming back.

Beautiful Resort and area, had a golf cart the entire time of our stay which was helpful. Staff made getting a water taxi extremely easy. Saw monkeys & sloths right at Reception. Liked it so much we actually booked another night.

"Beautiful visit at Bastimentos"

10.0

Visited a family home on Red Frog Island Resort. The beach is amazing and Nacho Mama's has fabulous fish Tacos and cold cervezas! Beach is beautiful white sand and virtually empty! Fishing off Bastimentos is average, depending on the season.

Then property is gorgeous. It is more spread out then I thought. The ride service on site is nice as the hills can be hard. The Food at the resort is acceptable but not great. The Plamer resort that is just a 5 minute walk.is much better. Overall it was a great place to stay.

"Breathtaking views, Welcoming staff, and good food!"

10.0

My family and I went to the Red Frog Beach Resort for Spring Break for a week. We could not have had a better experience! While you’re there you get to see and learn about the amazing wildlife in Panama. We saw so many sloths, monkeys, and birds. This just enhanced our experience. All of the workers at the resort were so kind and welcoming. The island is so beautiful and our villa was amazing! It was very clean and we had a full kitchen, washer and dryer and 3 bathrooms with 2 queen bedrooms. Including a small pool. The Beach club restaurant was open and the food was good with a large menu! There are two other restaurants within walking distance right on the beach that are very good! There is so many walking trails to explore and the resort offers water taxis to different excursions like Starfish Island Dolphin Cay and into Bocas town which we did and recommend! The spa is located in the jungle in a little hut and it was very relaxing and the lady giving the spa services did a great job! Overall it was an amazing experience and we would definitely go back!
