Quiet location just outside the city. Comfy bed, sparklingly clean white towels and bedding

No shampoo or conditioner in the room.

The house was very nice, our room was quaint, quiet and comfortable and the gardens were lovely. We also enjoyed the pool. The receptionist is very helpful.

The reception is not open in the morning/when checking out, which means it is not possible to leave luggage for the day after checking out. This was not clear from the information provided. On our checkout day, a staff member banged on our door a few minutes before the checkout time to make sure we were leaving, which was off-putting.

I’m only travelling on so it’s a bit off a faff to get too off the M11 motorway. Could be fine for a City stay.

The room was beautiful and the parking was very good. There is a lovely garden too.

The hotel is normally comfortable and impressive, however the room during this stay (3 days) was disappointing. The furniture was tired and there was a smell within the room possibly from cats entering, we had one mewing at the door and had to keep this closed. Unfortunately we were unable to change the room as the hotel was busy.

The grounds are well kept and very pretty

The decor needs an overhaul, no food, no bar, no staff available except 4-10 pm, but lady was very helpful
