La Magnolia Hotel Sorrento

Claudio was our host and was very friendly and had lots of suggestions for things to do. He directed us to two fabulous family restaurants. One restaurant was very close. He walked with us and introduced us to the husband and wife team. We loved Stefanos playlist…which was heard in every room. We also loved the food and went back the next day. The hotel room was sufficient and clean. The entrance to the property is a large metal gate because this is also the family home. This small hotel has seven rooms and in a great location for walking most places. But if you need a ride, Taxi service is outside across the street. It was an excellent choice for us.

This boutique hotel is very quaint and very clean. Great location to shopping and dining. We went with a small group and occupied the entire hotel. Several of us had lovely balconies. The best part is the owner, Claudio! He did so much to accompany us on tours of the city helping us to find the best shopping and dining. He made sure everything was perfect for our group. He was anxious to share the history of the hotel and Sorrento. Alway making sure he could help his guests with every need. He even stayed up all night to be sure to see our group off at 3:00 am to make sure the car arrived on time and to help load luggage into the car! He goes above and beyond for his guests. Would highly recommend and will be sure to stay again!

Our stay was a delightful surprise. I come to Sorrento yearly and stay at the same hotel always, but this trip it was not available. I was reluctant to stay anywhere else but had no choice. This hotel does not provide breakfast BUT the location and host, Caludio was well worth this "inconvenience." the hotel was charming and clean, perfectly located in the city center and instantly there was a connection with each of my guests. We had the entire hotel to ourselves. Caludio was on hand to offer wonderful suggestions and gave us a private tour of the city, from his lifetime experience of growing up there in what was his family home. I will use this hotel whenever possible as everything was perfection.

We had the best stay at La Magnolia Hotel! Great, quiet location, walking distance to so many restaurants, shops, and Marina Piccolo, where we took a boat ride to Capri. Claudio was an amazing host with a great spirit! He was incredibly hospitable and helpful in every way. He arranged the boat ride (last minute)> He gave us wonderful recommendations for restaurants/shops, etc. We are looking forward to coming back to Sorrento and staying with Claudio again!

Claudio was an excellent host. Quick and clear communication. The room was great and the location was perfection! Would recommend this place to anyone.

Claudio the owner couldn’t have been anymore helpful, due to transportation strike , Claudio went far out of his way to arrange transportation for us so our trip could stay on schedule. He also recommended a few restaurants that were to die for and at a reasonable price. The room was very clean and comfortable.

The owner Claudio went out his way to make our stay the best, with great recommendations on restaurants, and due to a rail strike he helped with finding us alternative transportation to Naples so we wouldn’t miss our train to Rome. The location is perfect within the town center making everything an easy walk. The rooms are very clean with maid service every day.

Claudio’s property is situated in the most perfect spot for someone looking to experience Sorrento and the touristy activities accessible via Sorrento like the amalfi coast or even a Pompeii/vesuvius excursion. Claudio also has many useful connections in the town which will help make your experience more personal and memorable. The room itself was very comfortable with great AC. The furniture was all very nice and it felt extremely safe. The property is located behind a metal gate which adds to the feeling of safety. Sorrento as a whole feels very safe but the extra insurance in an unfamiliar place is welcome. Claudio himself is an excellent host and a great conversationalist. He is not only an interesting person but he is very helpful and was available via WhatsApp for any questions or needs during my stay. Being able to have a “boots on the ground” connection when looking for the best breakfast or the best place for drinks is extremely useful. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing !! Claudio the host is fantastic, gave local recommendations of the best restaurants in town and for different meals, lunch, breakfast etc. he also gave recommendations for tours as well !! The hotel was so lovely a true family home feel to it
