La Magnolia Hotel Sorrento

Proprietor Claudio made himself available whenever I had a question. He was kind enough to make multiple recommendations of places to eat, visit and see, even for other places in other cities; walked me to locations to ensure I found the right place; set up a last-minute tour that I wanted to do; and took time to talk with and get to know me. He not only has connections all across the city of Sorrento and beyond, but he genuinely cares about his guests having an exceptional time. Be aware that La Magnolia does not have some amenities like an elevator/lift for second-floor rooms or a breakfast, but there are plenty of places within a five-minute walk that do offer sit-down or takeaway service. Would absolutely stay again. The rooms are also very charming and classic.

Claudio did an amazing job making us feel welcome, informed, and at peace for our first time in Sorrento. The room is perfect for what we needed and he kindly has the fridge stocked with any drinkable things you may need along the way. Overall and excellent stay for us!

Claudio, the hotel proprietor, is very accomodating, welcoming, and hands-on in terms of helping you get situated and suggesting things for you to do. This was especially helpful when booking a boat tour or even just finding places to eat. Also, it seems like he knows everyone in town there when you watch him walk around—he's a true local guide in that way. My room was spacious, air-conditioned and more than adequate for my needs.. It was a wonderful place to come to after several hours out and about. There was nothing fancy about it, but it was clean, functional, and most important, comfortable. There was a little patio I didn't take advantange of as I was mostly away or just too tired and tired of the Southern European heat!! 🥵 It was practical. There were no fancy amenties to speak of and I didn't need them. I just needed a good base to explore from and La Magnolia filled that job admirably. The location is fantastic, it's just off the main square, where everything is happening. The hotel is a five minute walk from the train station, too. So it's about as centrally located as you can get. If you decide to stay here, I advise taking advantage of Claudio's knowledge and ability to book different experiences. I don't know how the pricing compares to similar experiences through Trip Advisor/Viator but that he has personal relationships with the people operating boats, running restaurants, and wine tastings I tend to trust that more. I'd absolutely stay here again and recommend it.

Great location in the center of the town, short walk to the train station, taxis in front of the place. Room was clean and had all you need. The host, Claudio, was exceptional. Get to know him, he will recommend places to go, or even arrange boat trips to Capri or the Amalfi coast.

Perfectly located intimate property, in the heart of Sorrento. The main square and promenade are located practically next door and we have a 10-minute walk to the port. The train station is a 5-minute walk away, so even with suitcases it is best to walk. We had a very nice room and equipped with everything you need. However, the most wonderful was our host Claudio, who did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Not only did he recommend many local attractions and restaurants, but he also organized a wonderful boat trip to Capri😊 I hope we will come back here again, maybe for a slightly longer vacation

My wife & I spent 2 weeks traveling abroad and the 4 nights we spent in Sorrento were easily the highlight of our trip, and that's in large part to our stay at La Magnolia. The location is great - very close to the town center but not noisy. The room was clean and incredibly spacious. But what (or who, rather) we will never forget was Claudio. He might just be the most hospitable man we've ever met. His recommendations took us places we never would've thought (and kept us from some tourist traps). You could tell his genuine passion for this town and making sure you enjoyed your time there as much as he does. It was a perfect experience to take in the Southern Italian lifestyle. We've told everyone we know to stay here now and can't wait to go back!

Claudio was an amazing host at this quaint and conveniently located hotel. He went out of his way to help us have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We felt very happy to learn a little about the area and found lovely restaurants and places to visit. The hotel is clean and had everything we needed for our stay in beautiful Sorrento.

Perfect location within walking distance of train station and town centre and waterfront. The rooms were clean and comfortable ideal for our short stay. Claudio was a fantastic host. He recommended where to eat. He organized a boat trip for us to Capri and walked us to the pick up point. Above and beyond. A really nice guy. He made our trip to Sorrento special.

The manager, Claudio, was incredibly helpful when we lost our luggage on the way out. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was in a really convenient place to access all of Sorrento's delights. Definitely a great choice!
