Tea Bungalow

We really enjoyed our stay here and only wish it could have c been longer! This is a beautiful heritage property - loaded with stunning antiques and local artwork. The staff were all very good: warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful. We were greeted with delicious welcome drinks & wonderful ice cold cloths - such a welcome reception in the crazy Kochi heat. Our room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. High wood panelled ceilings, hardwood floors, beautiful antiques & art, a large spacious bathroom with everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again and definitely recommend it to my friends.

This is an old colonial tea house with large, spacious rooms and the bathroom in my room was built into the gardens area so totally natural inside with walls and a roof. The pool area is nice to sit in snd it is within hood walking distance of the restaurants and harbour area. One downside is the The breakfast is not a buffet snd has a very limited menu. The waiting staff’s English skills are not great so you point and have it as it is , you can’t ask for it to be adapted to how you want. The service is also very slow and it took 25 minutes to cook an omelette and we were the only ones in.

Neglected hotel resting on its former reputation. Worn out, not clean, entirely absent service and management. Food abysmal quality and service non existant. Needs money spending on it and a good clean and some trained, enthusiastic staff. Dempo Ltd (owners)are taking the.... The photos are 20 yrs old. Hasn't seen any polish on those floors since then. Floors dirty. Showers dirty. Light switches gunky, mirrors tarnished, fittings falling off. Sheets and towels worn out and grey. Extraordinarily expensive for what amounted to just better than some hostels locally. Fort Kochi has many newly converted boutique hotels better situated and better priced.

This is a well located property in Kochi with some large and spacious rooms; the pool is also good. The breakfasts are disappointing and there are many restaurants to choose from in Kochi so finding somewhere else to eat isn't a challenge. We stayed in Cochin room which is peaceful and comfortable.

The Tea Bungalow is well located within easy walking distance of the Fort Cochin area and a short tuk tuk ride from the historic district of Mattamcherry. The room was extremely comfortable. My room had a pleasant outdoor terrace but I heard from other guests that ground floor terraces looked out onto a wall. The service was courteous and friendly but a little chaotic e.g. not telling me until I was checking out that my laundry bill had to be paid in cash.

Fascinating historic building, very friendly and helpful staff, great food, and amazing location to walking to good restaurants and sights in fort kochi. Couldn't recommend enough. The swimming pool is very nice and our room and bathroom were both huge.

A charming 5 day stay. We really enjoyed our time at Tea Bungalow. It's a heritage property that is beautifully maintained and well cared for. Our room was comfortable and had a terrace overlooking the pool which we used every say to cool off. The staff are welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent, there is a variety of breakfast options and an all day menu. Special thanks must go to Shibu for looking after us so well.

It’s a small Heritage Bunglow built in 1912 converted to a hotel. In total it have 10 rooms, 6 Heritage and 4 Newly built. Heritage rooms are quite big in size and Delux rooms too are of standard size. The good part first: - It’s in Fort Kochi and walkable distance from Kathakali Center, Princess Street & St. Francis Church. - It have a good vibes of Old Heritage Bunglow. - Taste of food was excellent. - Very Insta worthy picturesque hotel. Now the Bad ones : -Staffs are untrained and they lack understanding of customer service. -Very Limited menu on Breakfast and even in Lunch & Dinner most dishes were unavailable. - It’s price were too high for the service they provided. Stayed for 2 nights and overall the experience was of mix type.

I booked for 2 nights through Agoda, strangely the price was a lot cheaper than on Booking.com - received confirmation of booking. Then just a few days before I received a message via Agoda saying the booking was cancelled as hotel was full. I booked an alternative hotel in Kochi but strangely the next day the exact same room was showing on Agoda for my dates at the higher price (twice what I’d originally booked at) . It looked like a pleasant hotel but could have done without the stress they caused me.

Tea Bunglow is a charming, Instagram picturesque hotel with poor services for a boutique hotel. Their restaurant was closed. Breakfast had a fixed menu of the same fruits everyday. They need to pull themselves up
