Riad Layalina

I do not understand how this is ranked the #1 hotel in Fes. It was quite nice, the room weas large and the views were lovely but I cannot believe there are not better places to stay. The breakfast was acceptable but nothing more, the location, next to the public parking lot, made it easy to find in the maze that is the Fes Medina. I've got nothingh really bad to say about our stay, only that, of the 9 hotels we stayed at on this trip, this was near the bottom of the list. Perhps it is ranked #1 because other spots are not listed as hotels? Maybe Riads have a different category listing? I'm home now so don't care enough to go hunting

L'emplacement est parfait en bordure de la médina avec de plus un parking privé donc facilement accessible en véhicule (à la différence de beaucoup de Riad dans la Médina) Le patio est très joli et la terrasse offre une très belle vue sur la ville. Le personnel est très aimable et disponible pour les hôtes.

Le problème est que tout est bien quand il fait beau et chaud. Nous sommes restés une semaine. Avec du froid et de la pluie, on atteint les limites du confort avec une petite chambre (chauffée), un petit lit collé au mur froid et une salle de bain sur le pallier non chauffée... Le petit déjeuner est plutôt bien mais il manque des fruits et des laitages pour être parfait.

Le personnel était exceptionnel. Ils nous ont accueilli avec un repas. Ils nous ont ensuite montré notre chambre puis a pris le temps de nous remettre une carte et de nous expliquer les endroits touristiques à voir à proximité. Personnel attentionné. Endroit très propre. La salle de bain n’est pas dans la chambre mais est très près et privée.

The team of caretakers are nothing short of magical fairies , taking care of all your needs , cooking breakfast and calling taxis . The location is perfect , right at the edge of the Medina and fully accessible to taxis . Highly recommend !

Not that this is a negative thing by any means but the building has many many steep stairs that are hard to navigate at night but I assume this is a old building thing rather than anything to do with this particular property .

Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable with a good size and heating / cooling, food was great, and the location was absolutely perfect (quick entrance to the medina but away from the hustle and bustle and easy to get to by petit taxi). Great views over the medina and hills from the rooftop terrace.

Can't fault much - shower started running out of hot water by the second shower but we weren't necessarily being quick.

This is a lovely hotel, at least physically. It is well located, the main room is a beautiful Riad. The room was more than adequate and the bed was comfortable. The problem was slow service. It started at check in. You were just left waiting in a chair without explanation. Service when it came was good. Breakfast was adequate without being special, but oh so slow. What should have been done in twenty minutes took over an hour. Two days in a row. Check out was similarly incomprehensibly slow. If you come here I hope you don't value your time. The management here clearly don't value customer time.

Sichere öffentliche Parkplätze in der Nähe, zusätzlich eigene abgeschlossene Parkplätze auf privatem Grundstück. Top Lage direkt neben der Medina von Fes. Sehr gutes, reichhaltiges Frühstück. Ruhiges, authentisches Riad mit angenehmer Atmosphäre.
