Hotel Hacienda VIP

We loved the old Hacienda feel and friendly staff. Service was very top notch!

Everyone was so kind that worked here. We left early this morning and the front desk attendant came out into the street and waited with us for our car to come. That was so kind. Hotel is beautiful. Great water pressure, good air, very clean. Thank you!

Beautiful Hacienda, great location close to the Zentro and many key restaurants/cafes and friendly service from the staff. The rooms are huge and so are the bathrooms. It gives you a great taste of living in a Hacienda. Close proximity to La Chaya Maya restaurants, MUGY, Parque St Anna etc are all benefits of staying here.

Beautiful place with lots of character! Super charming

We stayed here for 2 nights and didn't have any of the issues mentioned in other reviews. The hotel is gorgeous and so tastefully decorated. Our room was gorgeous with an enormous bathroom and looked out over a small pool and tables outside where breakfast is served. The level of English speaking amongst the staff is very high and they were all so friendly and helpful. Fabulous.

The hotel was beautiful and the service was good. However, there were a lot of mosquitoes inside of one the rooms and there was an ongoing construction in the adjacent building starting in the morning even during the weekend. The hotel has potential but not the best experience this time.

I don’t know who made the mistake Expedia or the hotel. The hotel room where oversold. Therefore I cannot give any feedback about the hotel. Since they sent me to another hotel around the corner. I feel I overpaid for the Hotel they put me in. In the bright side, I had to say that it was nice and give me a glass of wine when I arrive to the Hotel Avenida VIP. I guess with a glass of wine I was nervous and happy at the moment. Please do not over sell the rooms. Also, for people who want to stay at the hotel, please call ahead and make sure they have your room available.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. It’s so unfortunate that a cantina with live music has opened up next door, and the night we stayed they had live music until 2am (so loud it literally felt like they were playing in our room!) Which was then followed by a dj until around 4am with drunk people shouting and chanting… worst nights sleep ever!! I feel very sad for the hotel, they didn’t even convince us to stay another night when we complained in the morning, they knew how loud it was, and told us there is currently a law suit against the cantina. I wanted to write this review, not to put people off booking, but to warn them, until the bar next door closes you will be in for a very rough night!! But please check with the hotel as I’m sure they will close it down soon, Merida is such a beautiful family orientated city, it has no place for a bar like that!!

This hotel has beautifully decorated common parts and is well located. Nonetheless, we left after one night. The same owners have a second hotel, next door, which is being extensively renovated. We had all the noise of a building site from 9 - 5. At night, there was loud music from a nearby club or bar which was still going at 01.30 am. Thus we could neither rest during the day nor sleep at night. The hotel website is ‘under construction’ so there is no visibility of these changes but I attach photos below showing that a workman was a few metres away from the end of our bed! The work will be over at some point so I suspect the new hotel the noise (at least during the day) will stop. In the interim, it would be helpful if management were transparent about the service they can offer at the moment. In the meantime, I suggest you ask about the conditions before you book.

Lovely hotel in a perfect spot to see the sites of Merida. The main street; Paseo de Montejo (one direction) and the main square; Plaza Grande (the other direction) were both in easy walking distance. Our room, with a balcony overlooking the pool was wonderful, with a large room, large walk in wardobe and deep bath. Free parking round the corner. Limited, but freshly cooked and tasty breakfast, served by a friendly waiter. We didn't use the pool - its more of a feature than a swim. Perfect for what we wanted. Highly recommended if you want little style over the 'brand' hotels.
