The look of the outside

Place was disgusting. Had hords of people playing knock a door run on our room door from 5am and groups shouting about right outside the door. The place was filthy. Our bin hadn't been emptied. Was actually a horrible stay for my wedding night

Great staff, hotel in need of investment

the hall itself looks very grand and in a lovely setting.

the room we stayed in (17) was in a court yard with what looked to be staff rooms…The room was dusty, hard to close window, no hot water for 30mins

The hotel is a former Victorian stately home. Interesting historical setting. The location, just off the A1 is excellent for travellers. The evening meal was excellent and the breakfast very good. The bar and waiting staff are very pleasant.

Reception could have been friendlier. The room was pretty ropy. Very scruffy and in need of upgrade. It was in the old stable block adjacent to the main house and there was no real need to have bins and linen stores outside our ground floor window. Massive contrast to the effort put in to making the main part of the hotel look and feel so good. The gardens were interesting with some beautiful bits.

Very tired hotel , staff not very welcoming . Menu had 3 items on it so we drove out to a country pub.

staff were great, friendly. breakfast was nice and staff attentive

Really beautiful old manor house. Gorgeous grounds. Really great location. The room was comfortable and in keeping with the hotel style. The bed was not the best but was comfortable enough. There were a few niggles around the room but these were minor and didnt affect our stay. A little more care with the cleaning wouldake a big difference but the room was clean enough (for example we found parts of a broken necklace under the dressing table). We found the staff polite and friendly. The breakfast was fine, the food was hot and there was a choice of hot buffet or cold options. The breakfast room is lovely and well decorated. We didnt eat dinner at the hotel as we were told only a limited bar menu was available. There are plenty of places nearby in Grantham to eat though so this wasnt a problem for us.

Comfy bed and location to travel routes was good.

Room was small and unclean (especially behind furniture). Lack of proper cups for kettle, bedside light did not work. Shower took an age for the water to heat up. Breakfast was cheap and fatty meats.

Room wasn't clean wqs filthy bed springs where lumpy in bed .hardkey slept ,and right outside window was smoking area which made room stink smoke made myself and partner feel sick .during night all noise from waterworks made such loud echo kept u awake ..be fair was worst hotel room I've ever stayed in felt ripped off and still felt sick from.smoke smell didn't eat breakfast so lost more money there .. rather slept in tent

Staff very freindly and dogs made feel welcome
