Great value for money but probably does need a little TLC. Menu in the restaurant was very limited.

Regarding our one night stay Stoke Rochford Hall: Thursday 8th September Upon check-in; reception staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful in directing us to our room and taking payment. Making our way to our room, number 46, we were disappointed to be greeted with painters and decorators in the unkempt corridors and rooms leading to ours however, we accepted this was part of the hotel upkeep. As we had a wedding to attend that evening we left promptly and returned to our room from our evening out, around midnight, to discover there was no hot water for a shower or bath. We left the water running to allow chance for it to heat up however, not even warm water was coming through at this point, it was stone cold. Reception was contacted by ourselves at this point. Two members of staff attended the room shortly after and agreed there was no hot water. A change of room was offered but at this point I was already upset that I could not have a shower and i was in bed due to the late hour. As well as this, our bags were unpacked all around the room. I felt like our extremely rare night away had been spoilt and I became very upset. Waking up the next morning to decorators in near by rooms to again discover there was no hot water. There was no hot water for a bath, shower or to the sink. I felt dirty and disappointed leaving the room. I approached reception to check out. I explained what had happened and no apology was given by the receptionist. She stated that we ‘didn’t

Location and building were stunning. Bed was comfy. Can't comment on the dining facilities as I didn't eat there. It is currently undergoing renovations and I hope this carries on to the stables as well.

On arrival, no staff at reception for several minutes, when someone did come, there was no welcome, no apology for keeping me waiting, not even a smile. He pointed me back out the main building as my room was in the stable block, a short drive back. The shower was only tepid. Mould on the bedroom curtains which had to be closed as it was on ground floor with people walking past. Mismatched furniture and the wallpaper, which showed rows of books was actually upside down. When I checked out again, no pleasantries from the same person as the night before

As always had a very good 2 night stay. Stop in a mansion room. Very good breakfasts first day breakfast was served, second day was self service. A pleasure to stop in a grand mansion would definitely return

Certain area's such as breakfast area needed a good vacuuming of carpets

"Had high hopes for our stay, but it was very disappointing and poor."

The view around the hotel.

The first room we were in smelt and the bath taps didn’t work. They moved us into another room. The second room we were in didn’t haven’t cups, so we had to go to reception to get some. The practice fire alarm went off and woke us up. They didn’t tell us beforehand. They didn’t clean our room on a daily basis. The road leading up to the hotel very unpleasant. It had lots of potholes. I would not recommend this hotel!
