"Real home feel, elegant lodging, and volcanoes!"

10.0

I brought my family from the States here for a few nights because it was so well located for getting to different places in the highlands and it looked nice in the pictures. What a treat! Maria, Cesar and the kids were all wonderful; we felt like part of the family. The hacienda is elegant and we really enjoyed sitting in the evenings near the fire places talking about everything from our trips to the challenges of running a farm in today's Ecuador. This is a working farm--we would meet Cesar at breakfast after he had finished two hours of morning milking. So, we not only got great advice on where to go and how to get there, we got to talk to them about being a farmer in Ecuador and life out of Quito and Cuenca. We also got fresh food from the farm--the food was well prepared and professionally served. All in all, a great place to stop to explore the Central highlands of Ecuador.

"Best place/hotel to stay in the area..."

10.0

We were looking for a place to stay that was very comfortable and with great customer service but also was very authentic and local. There are very few choices in the Cotopaxi area and we decided to go here due to the reviews in Expedia. The place was just what we were looking for. It is one of the best places we have stayed at. The food was amazing and the owners were very helpful and were always making sure we were OK. The only drawback is that it is a little hard to find, but just call the owner and they will direct you.
