The Gables Inn

The sheets on the bed were dirty,when checking in had to call them because office was locked was not able to get clean sheets

At our overnight stay within the Gables Inn we enjoyed our overall stay. The rooms were newly updated (we had 2) the beds were comfortable and there was lots of room for activites indoors. The only downfall with the Gables inn is that it’s broadcasted their is a pool for swimming and to our surprise when we arrived it looked like the pool had been closed for many years and instead built a small jungle gym next to it meaning it should have been removed from the ad. The lady working the front desk was friendly and answered any questions we had.

Perfectly fine for just me for a night. Yeah, it’s not a Hilton, but NO bugs, mattress fine. Door deadbolt didn’t work, and there’s no other interior chain, but I’m a guy, so I was fine with just the door handle lock. May be more nervous if I were female (but then I’d just ask to change rooms - I’m sure plenty of others have a working deadbolt). Would stay again.

Great check in experience, got upgraded to a kitchenette suite, which was also newly renovated. It was really nice. Motel was very quiet so I had a GREAT sleep. Very nice location as well. Also close to groceries stores and restaurants. Room was clean and spacious and also surprisingly large with a big, comfortable bed. Staff feels happy and like a family so this place must be doing something right that other places should take note of. Will definitely come here again. 10/10.

Lovely place to stay in Sarnia! The rooms are immaculately clean, super comfortable beds with soft pillows and mattresses, fresh linens, modern bathroom, and vinyl flooring. Very large playground area for kids and families to enjoy. Location is very safe, quiet, and family-friendly. Conveniently located right next to a great local donut/coffee shop. The staff are very friendly and kind people!

This is a basic property which suited our overnight requirements. We did miss having a coffee pot. It was quiet and the location was convenient. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

1. Close to amenities. 2. Good restaurants nearby. 3. Close to gas station.

1. Really dirty bedsheets, stained pillows and towels. 2. Burnt duvets, cobwebs, dusty AC/Heater, clogged sink, oily and sticky window frames, really bad smell in the room when we first got in, room carpets were all dirty, no dehumidifier in bathroom, yellow stained bathroom ceiling and door and bugs in bathroom. 3. Only once a week rooms were PARTLY cleaned unless we were the ones cleaning it. When we asked for all rooms to be cleaned, we were refused by the lady and we were told that not all rooms are cleaned as deemed not necessary by owners. We had to clean up the whole place ourselves - change bedsheets and vacuum the whole place. We even had to buy our own bedsheets and pillow covers to use as the ones provided by Gables Inn were extremely dirty, stained and smelly. 4. After 2 days of stay, everyone fell sick, had really bad allergies and fever. Ruined the whole vacation. 5. Refrigerator in room was not working, had to help owner to change the refrigerator. 6. Chairs extremely dirty and heavily stained. 7. Had to leave property early and move to another hotel. 8. Still having the side effects of allergies even after returning back home.
