The Gables Inn

It was easy to locate, with restaurants near by. Owners were so friendly and so helpful in directions to where we wanted to go.

I liked it because it was clean

The room was too cold because there was no heat on.

New clean updated bathroom and good towels...

The owner wasn't very pleasant upon arrival or when I called to say I was only staying one night nit two (she grunted on the ohone) The chairs at the eating table were stained & had little bits of stuff on the one...cobweb with a bug near the outlet...desk chair had a long black hair on it...the bedcover was old with pics of white tufts...pillows low grade & pillowcases ugh...the air conditioner was gross...old & yellow...unhealthy...the doorknob outside had chipped wood on one side that made me wonder what my room was going to be like...that was an indicator....do not recommend..didn't know I could have posted pics till just now when I scrolled down....

Property was great, but there seems to be a problem with the Expedia booking system . Found an attractive price for this , but by the time I got to check out the price had greatly increased. Same kind of problem with my stay at Great Lakes Inn & Suites in South Haven , MI. Low price to draw you in, but much higher price at check out.

The location was acceptable.

After a long drive I was met by an unfriendly and irritable receptionist. When I first opened the room door I was greeted with a musty smell which remained throughout the night. The room did not have a coffee maker or even a kettle. Guests should not have to beg for essential items. My bed was not attached to the headboard. Throughout the night my pillow continually dropped through the gap onto the floor as the mattress was on rollers. This was highly irritating! A good portion of the parking area was covered with weeds and dandelions. The water smelled and tasted of excessive chlorine. The door must have had a hairline fracture in the glass as it cracked and broke after several openings. I had to forfeit $100. The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. The foam pillows consistently bounced off my head. There were no plastic chairs outside the room to sit and get some fresh air. I would not recommend this motel to anyone under any circumstances!

The room was full of spiders and bugs.

The location was great and staff very friendly. The only complaint would be cleanliness. I found a paper with wifi password and a crumpled Kleenex behind the night table. Also the windows could use a wash and the white towels were stained, not all but a few. There was no iron, hair dryer or coffee maker which I thought I saw this advertised when Booking. The room was very spacious for all of your suitcases and the 3 beds were perfect. I would book again but would make sure to bring my own coffee maker.

Bed and pillows were rather soft. A coffee maker or kettle in the room would have been good.
