"Good breakfast, comfortable room, no bar or sauna"

8.0

Booked this hotel (24hrs prior to arriving) and got a reasonable deal. Only a few things that disappointed us: The sauna and steam room were both cold at 915am (had not been turned on) so we were unable to use the facility (after paying €10 for Bathrobes and slippers)! It's a shame that the bar closed so early (10pm) as we were keen on having a drink by the fire that is proudly boasted on their website :( Judging on the above factors it is obvious the hotel is trying to save money?! On a plus side: Very nice large comfortable rooms, and the breakfast is very good; subject to the adverse comments previously left from other guests!

"Great for the surrondings"

6.0

I booked this hotel through one of the Fletcher offer. What I really enjoyed was that there is a forest next to the entrance and that cities around such as Arnhem are quickly reachable with the car. I found the lobby and the bar very comfy and I enjoyed having a beer there. The room was not exeptional but comfortable and big. The only thing I did not like in the room was the ceiling in the bathroom, it could definetly be renovated as you could see holes in it. The food at the restaurant was ok, the meal were not exeptional and we did not even get a fish knife for our salmon. Unfortunately, living in the Netherlands, I know how difficult it can be to find great restaurant and this one was definately in the top 15. All in all with this Fletcher offer it was definately a good value for the price we paid.

"Definitely disappointed and not what I expected"

6.0

Booked a room for two nights and warned that I was a carrier of a disabled person's card. That they couldn't give me a room on the ground floor was certainly not their fault BUT I was given a tiny room under the roof with two tiny beds - children size. Put your head up too fast and you hit the ceiling, literally. Plastic covered bed base torn on one bed. Bathroom ? A tiny dark hole so small there was no room even to put a tablet for a toothbrush and all washing effects had to be dumped on the second bed. Tiny television the size of an iPad. 2 plastic collapsable chairs in the room that you'd be embarrassed to take on a pic-nic . Dirty walls scuffed by the damaged wooden table. Tiny cheap hanging cupboard and dim economy lighting that made it impossible to read atall. As there was no mirror in the room and no window in the shower-room - it was thus quite impossible to put on any make-up and see whether the image was satisfactory. The shower-room lighting being even worse than in the bedroom. Outside there are alledgedly 2 parking spots for people with disabilities. A car carrying no visible sign of belonging to a handicapped person was blocking both spots. If you want to bring a dog into your room (in collapsable cage) you pay extra and are warned that extra cleaning will be still more extra. If you have a small child and want a cot - th is is charged extra too. If you don't eat breakfast (included in the price) but would like a coffee in your room - this is charged extra too. There is no fridge, no safe-box, no coffee facility. The outside allure looks inviting but the reality is less than good. One pleasant young man regretted the tiny room on the second floor but the female staff to whom I spoke of my disappointment in the conditions were unsmiling and unhelpful. I shall definitely NOT be returning here though I still have one more night. Grossly overpriced for what you get. Only consolation is the free wifi which thus enables me to send this report.

"I don't understand all the poor reviews"

8.0

We recently stayed at this Fletcher hotel, and after reading all the poor reviews, I'll admit I was a little worried. We had booked an upgrade to a comfort room with porch. The reception at the hotel is very friendly. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. No, the furniture isn't brand new, but it's perfectly fine and comfortable to boot. We though the location was lovely. The nearest town is less than 5 minutes by car. Adjoining the hotel is a parcel that is part of a former chateau where you can walk along under the trees and by the stream. Breakfast was good, enough choices for us. Eggs, bacon, meats and cheeses, cereals, yogurt etc. We stayed with two dogs. The only complaint I may have is that the pillows were a little flat and that I would have liked a few more towels That being said, most hotels have flat pillows and we could have asked for more towels. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

"What you see on the site isn't what you get"

6.0

Let me start by saying that we - every few months - take our dog on a dog weekend. That weekend is for him to stroll and have fun, so we look for locations we he has a lot of walking options. From that view the location is very good. You can take a lot of walking tours in the surroundings. Upon arrival we didn't get our 'welcome drink' No worries, we can do without it. The young lady at the reception, was obviously having a bad day, but okay ... . We went to our room and we had a big surprise. We landed in 'That 70's show' (take a look at the pictures). Our room was very outdated. No problem it is just to sleep and we don't watch TV. It was an very old model, it was actually nice to go with my hand over the screen and hear the sizzling of the dust on it. The lighting in the room was very unromantic, it was like a hallway light. And you only could put it on and out at the door. The bedside light (integrated in our 70's bed) didn't work at one side. So I asked the young lady to let this be fixed. It never happened. Conclusion, the room in't a topper and doesn't look in the slightest way, like the rooms presented on the website. And I know the light was very unromantic, but the 2 beds don't make it easier to have some TLC. The room wasn't clean .... at all. Next day I putted my towel on the floor, 'the' indication that I would like to have a new one. When we came back, they putted it on the dog his bed. Looks like the dog may use my used towel and I didn't get one. Rooms are not sound proof at all. Don't take some fresh air outside on the terrace because none of the tiles are anchored. Staff apart from the young lady, was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast wasn't a highlight. It was basic, that's okay, but there were for example some slices of cheese that already died a few weeks back and were trying to get of the plate themselves. So I don't think we are going to return to this hotel.

"Good stay"

Good place to stay for one night. I liked the small town feeling. Staff had problem with English, however I should learn Dutch since it is after all Holland. Place was clean and we had a balcony overlooking the creek. Would recommend.

"Fantastic staff and bar"

10.0

This hotel has very helpful staff, very friendly at check-in and when they saw the panic in our eyes that the bar was going to close at 11 PM they said they would keep it open for as long as necessary. Now that is service! 3 AM the bar was still open! They even let us pick our favourite music to be played.
