Gateway Canyons Resort, A Noble House Resort

Well, this property and its surroundings are nothing short of amazing. Ditto on service. This is a place where best you go and stay a while - do everything offered at the "Adventure Center". This property is remote, but completely self contained. Just review the Gateway Canyons Resort web site - everything in reality is more spectacular that even presented in its own marketing. You have to be there to experience.

Remote resort in western Colorado, surrounded by majestic red rock formations. The expansive facility accommodates groups for business and/ or celebratory events. Rooms are private! Service is awesome. Hot and dry in the summer...elevation 4600'. Gorgeous!

The location is beautiful and the staff is incredibly friendly. However, our room had french doors onto a small patio that did not close. One door would get stuck and could not be closed completely, no matter how much we pulled on it. This let flies into our room with no way to keep them out. Because the door couldn't latch, it also made it impossible to keep our child from pushing the door open and wandering out on the patio. A second room we booked for my parents (it was their 50th wedding anniversary) and was supposed to be a surprise canyon view room with a private hot tub. I double checked at check-in and was assured that this room had a canyon view. After checking in and visiting my parents, they had a private hot tub, but the patio did not face the canyon to the west. They had a view of the neighboring building to the north. Since they had already settled into the room, they did not want to repack and move rooms. This was very disappointing considering the substantial up-charge we prepaid to secure the room with a view.
