Lovely pub with great outside dining area, good food and comfy rooms.

This was our belatedl anniversary break so we had emailed the hotel to inform them of this when we booked a table for the first night. When we arrived and shown to our room we were told they had no double bed so had pushed two singles together, the filler was wood so the beds just separated so not great for a romantic weekend away! The room was dirty the surfaces were covered in dust and hair. When we were shown into the room there was a floor standing fan turned on as the room was extremely hot, when we turned the fan off to move to better position the fan was also thick with dust. Our room was over the kitchen which meant there was some kind of generator quite noisy till 11pm. Our room never got cleaned in 3 days stay or any fresh towels. The staff changed a lot and we had no idea who the manager was. The 2 girls who served us on the 1st and last night were lovely though. Also under stairwell lots of boxes where piled up and along the corridor leading to our room lots of items piled up which made the place look very cluttered. This Inn is advertised as 5 star sadly it’s a beautiful pub in a beautiful place but in need of some TLC and a good clean.

This was a lucky find, as it was only after booking that we realised it was in a small village, possibly limiting our choice of eating out. However, the high standard of the meals provided, encouraged us to dine there each night - except Sunday when the restaurant closed early. (Corbridge 5 - 6 miles away has big choice for dining). Comfortable with excellent service, so we thoroughly recommend this hotel.

An enjoyable break in a friendly hotel. The staff, food and accommodation were all excellent. We enjoyed the dinner menu and the breakfast the next day, could not recommend highly enough.

Very quiet picturesque setting in a small village. Easy on site parking and check in. Lovely room clean and cosy with refreshments. Superb breakfast with friendly staff. Would use again without hesitation

We stayed for 3 nights, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Spacious rooms, with good views. The dinner was excellent, we can recommend the desserts!

Staff were helpful and friendly. Excellent room & comfortable bed. The hotel is in a lovely area and has some outdoor seating space. Will stay again.

Excellent food, very comfortable room, very friendly staff and conveniently situated for the Wall. If you arrive on a Sunday, check in advance when they stop serving food!

Fabulous hotel Nick was great very helpful having said that all the staff were great Food was delicious Would definitely stay here again.
