Courtyard by Marriott Bridgetown, Barbados

Following a diverted flight due to fly to London, but went back to Barbados, we had nowhere to stay and were exhausted. We made this last minute booking and the staff were exceptional. They managed to turn the room around 4 hours before it was due to allow us to sleep. They allowed us to grab a pass to the pool so we could try and nap on the sunbeds before the room was ready, they helped get us a taxi to the airport. Ultimately they showed an immense duty of care - we will be forever grateful to them for this!

The hotel was much more of a business hotel than a vacation hotel, but we had a pleasant stay. The room was average, even though we are titanium members and used our suite upgrade, we received a balcony room on the pool level. What really made our stay here was Andrea and the amazing F&B team! My husband left his phone in the taxi on the way to the hotel and Andrea was able to get it back for us. This was the first of many stellar interactions with the F&B team. The beach was a quick walk across the street and there were several restaurants within waling distance. Honestly, there was nothing wrong with the hotel, but I do feel it was overpriced for what it was. Next time we are in Barbados, we will stop in to say hi to the F&B team but most likely stay somewhere else.

The staff were friendly and very accomodating, from the receptionist to the cleaning staff. The room was modern, clean and well lit. The quesadilla and burger we ordered were great as well. Even tho the property is not located on the beach, the beach is literally across the street and very convenient. I'll definitely stay at Marriott again.

We booked last minute using a Jetbluevacation package for a 4 night stay. Pros clean rooms, ac worked perfectly rooms cleaned accordingly each day, breakfast and dinner was very good, staff super friendly and helpful, across the street from beach, nice quiet surroundings. Cons we chose to pay for breakfast each day so shop for a deal that includes it in your stay, they lend you towels and chairs for beach but not loungers of course. You need to taxi to St Lawrence Bay for some good restaurants we ate at but we took local taxis and were fine and inexpensive.

Hotel is clean, secure and renovated but lacks ambiance. Food is soso. No hamburger buns, cappuccino isn’t consistent and some items on menu are unavailable. Not a lot of things to do in the area. Beach access and boardwalk is across the street.
