Hotel Rheinfall

This hotel is in a great location for the Rhine Falls (just 10 mins walk) one of the largest waterfalls in Europe and worth a vistit. Staff and owner were great but the hotel could do with a face lift as it's looking a bit tired.

Great location for visiting the falls. It´s about a 10 minute walk. Free parking for the car. It´s a rather basic hotel but the room was ok and clean. The restroom was a bit small. I had hardly any space to move when I closed the door. Breakfast was ok. Not the choice we had in bigger hotels but you can´t expact that in a smaller basic hotel.

Even the hotel is a non-smoking area but I still can smell it strongly especially at the first floor. The room is big and brighten up with lights, it can fit 2 people perfectly. However, the heater didn't work and the water from a faucet was hardly flowed. Only a few minutes drive from the hotel, you will see the Rheinfall.

It was too expensive for what the had to offer, but there are not too many hotels to choose from in the area, unless you want to stay at the hostel, so they take advantage of that. The hotel was okay, reminded me of the dungeon, thanks god they had windows otherwise I would feel too claustrophobic. The bathroom was weird and very tiny, you have to take the sower in the bathtub, it is small and slippery with the round edges, you constantly feel like you gonna slip down and fall. The bed was not bad and the big room was good with the windows, the other little room we requested for the 3rd person was like a little hallway room with no windows. The breakfast was awful, two women who served food didn't speak any English but they were nice. It was very strange choice of food, hard boiled eggs, no scrambled eggs. Bread, butter, apples and banana. The only good thing about this hotel is the location, because it was close to the waterfalls. We survived there for one night.

We had a very nice light-filled and quiet room on the 5th floor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Standard continental breakfast and bike storage.

The location is the advantage of this hotel. It is very practical to go and visit the falls (10 minutes walking). It has a parking as well (behind the hotel). The room is clean, but the decoration is very old-fashioned. It definitely needs refurbishment and renovation work ! The linen is not very good nor comfortable as well. The breakfast quality and variety is very poor.

The hotel is in all types Basic. One of the few good things is the location. The falls can easily be reached by walking. The bed was clean, but the rest of the room can be named unsatisfying, no towel hooks by the sink which is located inside of the room, the shower and toilet section is separated by a string curtain. I imagined more for this kind of money.

This hotel is very good in most respects, particularly if you are looking to visit the falls, although there are some things that could be improved. The website (at least on the English-language page) does not have enough information about which bus can be taking to the hotel and from where it should be caught. Knowing that a bus runs from Schaffhausen station direct to the hotel, including the number and the name of the stop, would make a visitor's life much easier. The rooms are quite dated, but the breakfast range is good and should cater to most tastes. The bathroom was dreadful and needs to be rethought completely. As a single female I also hated the situation with the bar where one has to walk through it too book in. It would be better to find an alternative entry for that.

Clean, comfortable, basic hotel close by Rheinfalls. Stayed here for business, as opposed to nearby Schaffhausen. Rooms are a mixed bag, i've had singles, doubles and triples in my time here. Staff friendly, free WiFi, breakfast is basic "continental affair" but ok, meats, cheese, breads, jam, yoghurts and coffee/tea

This hotel was basic and a little tired but our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were very good, with plenty of choice in a very clean dining room. The overall cost was reasonable for Switzerland and we had no complaints. The staff were very nice.
